    What if General Ewell managed to take Culps hill the first day at Gettysburg?

    What if Gen. Jackson had survived?

    What if the US did not get involved in WW I?

    What if China had been invaded during the Korean War like MacArthur wished to do?

    What if Benedict Arnold has been treated properly by the Continental Congress and he had nor defected? Doesn't "President Benedict Arnold" sound funny to our ears?

    What if the British had reconquered the US in the War of 1812 and banned the Constitution?

    * In order to hasten the end of the war, the Japanese Empire had dropped an experimental atomic bomb on Los Angeles and San Diego?
    * India and Pakistan had a nuclear war in 2000?
    * The Taliban had surrendered Osama bin Laden following the attacks on the U.S.?
    * The Bolshevik revolution had failed?
    * The Roman Empire had survived and thrived into the present day?
    * The stock market crash of 1929 had not occurred?
    * Alcoholic beverages were still prohibited, but marijuana was not?
    * Oklahoma had been made into a sovereign state for the tribes relocated there?
    * Ronald Reagan had gone ahead with picking Gerald Ford as VP instead of G.H.W. Bush?
    * What if George Washington had been King of the US, rather than its president?
    * Apollo astronauts had brought back a virulent and deadly microbe from the moon?
    * The aeroplane had not been invented?

    Shouldn't these "what if" scenarios at least be somewhat plausible?

    However, if they would have done this, they probably would not have been the brutal barbarians that we know them to be.

    Yep. Alda is a great actor. My daughter-in-law has the M*A*S*H sets of DVD's from about every season. She loves him. (And I've probably seen every episode a dozen times. Classic)

    But on West Wing up against Jimmy Smits (young and hispanic) contrasted to the old white guy, it was no chance for Alda to shine.

    For something similar to that, watch the movie "Supersize Me". The guy ate every meal at McDonalds with horrifying results. Available on DVD and VHS.
