Without posting the lyrics, let's talk about songs for worship. What do you look for in the songs you use or worship with. How do you decide what songs are worth your time and energy? List three or four favorites, and tell us why these minister to you. "In Christ Alone (My Hope is Found)" Stuart Townend/Keith Getty The entire gospel in one song. I love it. Sound lyrics, and solid melody. Easy to learn for a congregation and they seem to enjoy it as well. A modern hymn. "Take My Life and Let it Be Consecrated" Francis Havergal/Chris Tomlin/Louie Giglio A newer version of the old hymn text by Havergal, with a new melody and new chorus, "Here am I, all of me. Take my life, it's all for Thee." A good treatment of a solid old song with a message that still stands. "Clear the Stage" Ross King A call to lay down all the superfluous trappings of our "modern worship experience," and realize that true worship begins with me, in spirit and in truth. "Anything I put before my God is an idol," and this song reminds us that worship is more than a song.
