Here's a topic that should be problem free. Who are your favourite characters in the Bible? (excluding Jesus because He's a given)

    Paul
    David
    Noah
    Joseph

My favorite would be John, the Disciple Whom Jesus Loved!

I think John, of all the disciples, understood on a deeper level just how much Jesus loved him. John also jumped up to follow Jesus when Jesus told Peter to follow him to death. John was willing without being asked.

I always recommend a new Christian read John first and then Romans when just starting Bible reading for the first time. [IMG]

    KJ,
I would have to say Luke. Not only did he give us the Gospel, but also the history of the early church on which we have our basis today, (Acts). He also walked the walk, (2 Timothy 4;11).

    Thanks for your posts. [IMG]

John and Luke are both cool. I like Noah though cuz any man who can build a boat on dry land and subject themselves to criticism because God told them to, is worthy of admiration.

King James, I think it's interesting that it was 120 years from the time God told Noah to build the ark until the first drop of rain, EVER, fell on to earth. Can't you just HEAR the neighbors?

Hard to choose. But I thik one owuld be Moses, because he waited 80 ears to be used by God, then he did it beauce God told him too, even though he tried to get out of it. Moses reminds me that those God used in scripture were not perfect, and far from it, and they still sinned, yet God was able to use them, and their mess ups.

Joshua and Caleb because they believed that God is mightier than all the giants in the land and were willing to say so despite being in the minority.

Samson, Saul(Paul) and David because they were sinners, like you and me, who God used to do great things with during their lives while either backsliding (Samson and David) or prior to coming to know Him.

John the beloved. He must have been amazing. I believe of all the characters in the bible he must have had the most loving, gentle soul.

Peter - because he was, in my opinion, the most like the majority of Christians. He wasn't the most educated man in the region, he wasn't wealthy, he just loved Christ. He studied what Christ taught, he truly thought that nothing would ever cause him to stray from Christ, but when he fell, he found Christ waiting to pick him back up, and he didn't let that failure keep him from serving Christ to his fullest.

Solemn - because of his search for wisdom, rather than all the other things he enjoyed in life, and the fact that in the end he said, "God matters more than anything."

Job - his perserverance was astounding.

    Amos

    Why?

Bacause he was just a simple country boy who took on the "religious elite".

God and me = a majority!!!

    In HIS service;
    Jim
