What did you do /will you do this year regarding filing your tax return?
By coincidence, I just had Block do mine today (02/27).
Did them myself at TaxAct online services
They even offered FAFSA help.
Between federal and local taxes this year I'm a couple thousand dollars the poorer. Ouch!
I have used taxact in the past, but by far this year, I have used Taxslayer for myself and a lot of others.
Turbo tax and already received and spent my refund. raying:
Same~didn't spend it all though:laugh:
Uh huh. Yep.
"Turbo tax and already received and spent my refund."
Well how rude of you, I was going to see if we could set up a loan.
Spend it before the government does shall be my motto as well when it arrives.
If I was single I would give away my assets and then quit filing but The Wife worries about such things.
Well, actuall, I didn't tell the entire truth: My wife spent the refund on some really nice improvements to the house!
I prepared my returns about a month ago...
I decided to wait until the last minute to write the check though.
I won't mail it until April 14.
Obama's weekly pizza money "middle class tax cut" didn't even make a dent.
If I owed, I would wait until the very end to mail it in too.
Just finished e-filing tonight through TaxAct online. I checked purchasing a package on the poll but guess that's not the same thing now that I think about it. When refund arrives it will sit in savings!
I'm a CPA, and sort of like the painter's house, it will get done at some point!
That is the hope, but it is usually the good painter's house that looks the worst!
I e-filed using taxact online.
Will do Turbo Tax next weekend, and then hold the check (it should be quite small this year) until April 15th.
I always let my dad (who is H&R Block trained) do my taxes. He buys the software and does mines, theirs, and a few other relatives.
I ALWAYS owe! I have never gotten a refund in all my years of filing taxes. This year, I owe $2,152!! I could just throw up!
I have a small retirement check from the state (small because I only worked for them for 22 years), a SMALL salary from the church (less than $8,000), and a small salary from my Christian school.
Unfortunately, all of these small amounts of money added together just push me up into a tax bracket that I cannot afford.
C'est la vie.
But.....as a single woman, I have money coming in and money saved for my future. God is good and I thank Him for it - even as I write out check to Uncle Sam.
My wife has the audacity to be self-employed. As a result, the government financially penalizes her for her efforts. Therefore, we haven't had a tax refund since we were married.
We wait until the last day to mail the check.
I e-file using the free and powerful TaxAct. Good for minister's taxes
