I'm new here but all of the conversation seem's to be the same as everywhere else.
Everyone has an opinion. Big deal.
Opinion is irrelavent in God's Kingdom.
Is it just sport for everyone to type their opinion and enjoy the conversation?
It just seem's like we are making entertainment out of God's word.
Do you just read and study the Bible and just believe it as all Truth or what?
If not, how do you come to your conclusion of Final Authority?
    Just curious.

Well, you see, this is a discussion board.
In a discussion board, theologies, doctrines, and opinions are brought out, discussed, beat on, and discussed some more.
You just gave your opinion, that the opinions here are a lot of "big deal" irrelevancy in God's kingdom, so welcome to the club. On the other hand, there are other forums here where you can kid and rib another, hold hands, and say I luv ya, brother or sister, and feel good, and don't have to hear or read how others think your opinion is just a lot of hot air. You can try those forums, if you like.

Be patient with those of us who don't have the entire theology of the Bible figured out yet. Glad to know you have reached that destination.

The rest of us will have to toil on this board discussing and yes, throwing out our opinions, on what scripture teaches.

I have the final authority. But I'm about to pass it on to SaggyWoman, so check with her if you need a final say on something.

    Careful with the broad brush.

God's Word is fully autoritative and infallible.

But we are not smart enough to understand everything. There are some things that must be prefaced by, "I think that..." Not the fundamentals of the faith, mind you, but some issues.

I think you made an interesting point:

If there is contradiction between God's Word and our opinion, then that point could be made.

But "opinions," per se, are not irrelevant. Otherwise, we would all be clones. Churches would all be decorated identically. There would be no room for creativity and new ideas.

We should never reach the point to which we say, "I understand it all...my opinion and God's are identical in everything." The other undesirable extreme is, "well, we can't be sure of anything."

I'm not sure you meant it that way, but your post seemed rather judgemental. There are some things I know because God's Word is explicitly clear. Other things I think, because God's Word doesn't directly address them, and I have to look at the underlying principles, Scriptures' view on them, and go from there.

That seems to be a hasty OPINION.

Too late. If you have a problem with it, she's the final authority. Maybe she'll pass it on to you.

why do you call yourself old school ?

I call myself pinoybaptist basically because I am a Filipino Baptist (pinoy being the equivalent of yank or reb), and because the two letter form PB which can also stand for Primitive Baptist, which I am one.

    there.

    i'm trying to make friends.

    tell us about your handle.

    thanks.
