You know, it's so seldom that I listen to him anymore but I was so intrigued by Glenn Beck's show this morning that I kept it on that station for Limbaugh's show.

If you're interested, you can still listen to hour 1, where he breaks the whole thing down, at http://www.glennbeck.com

News travels pretty slowly here on the Chesapeake, so this is the first I'm hearing about it.

The libs remind me of Wile E. Coyote. They always think they're so clever when they set the trap, but then get caught in their own trap and never seem to learn.

Time for Hillary to break out the Acme Rocket Skates.

Reid is a nut and the reason is that he is a Mormon and can't think straight.

Reid is totally unqualified to be Senate Majority Leader and it shows how low the Democrats really are that they have turned to him. Of course, they had Byrd for leader for several years in spite of his past KKK membership, so the Democrats are one mixed-up party anyway. I think that the epitaph on the Democrat Party's tombstone will be that they championed abortion as their central domestic issue. The Democrats are doing poorly: they are stuck with loser Hillary for 2008; they have a looney Mormon as Senate Majority Leader; the economy is still firing up so that it will not be an issue; they support abortion; and the idea of withdrawal from Iraq seems stupid in light of Israel's recent bombing of Syrian nuclear installations and in light of French concern about Iran's development of the atomic bomb to be used against the Jews and the Europeans asap.

Senator Clinton won't be a loser after she whoops up on your party's candidate in November 2008 - Rudy Giuliani.

Hillary can't defeat the NYC hero mayor.

Rudy will lose to Fred Thompson.

Your party, Ken, will nominate Ron Paul and he will not even carry your home precinct, Ken.

Mitt Romney will have to go back to Utah. McCain should cross over and become a Democrat and take the nomination away from Hillary.

Fred Thompson will be the next President!!! :wavey:

Regardless of one's political preferences, FTR, I believe Mitt Romney is a resident of MA, not UT.

Harry Reid? Yep! How about Tom DeLay; Robert Byrd; Trent Lott; Tom Daschle; Bill Frist; Nancy Pelosi; Mitch McConnell; Ted Kennedy; Dick Armey; Tony Coleho; Bob Livingston; Ted Kennedy; Jim Wright; and Newt Gingrich? And on and on we could go!

Where are such as "Ev"Dirksen, Mike Mansfield, Jerry Ford, Tip O'Neill, Charlie Halleck, Carl Albert, Alben Barkley, Howard Baker, Wendell Ford, Bob Dole, Hubert Humphrey, John Rhodes, and John McCormick when we really need them?

You should be more informed, as you are displaying your ignorance of the truth. We are not to bear false witness.

You know the truth is that what Rush was talking about is real. There are a lot of phony soldiers out there. I know Rush was referring to one phony soldier, Jesse MacBeth, but there are a lot of people out there who call themselves veterans who are in fact nothing of the kind.

Mike McK mentioned the ‘stolen valor’ program and B. G. Burkctt’s book by that title documents many phonies who claimed to be Vietnam veterans but were in fact liars. There are several organizations out there that watch for these and if someone claims to be a veteran all a reporter or anyone else has to do is look up their military records. They are available to the general public.

But I would also say that even within the military and theater veterans there are ‘phony soldiers’ who may have deployed to country but did not fight. When I was in we called them REMFs. Their jobs are important, without someone sending food and ammunition forward the fighters could not last long, but they are not the same as real combat soldiers. If you did your tour working in a mess hall or motorpool or supply depot I am not ragging on you, you did your duty and did it with honor. But if you then came back home and passed yourself off as a special ops combat veteran, well that is just lying.

Unfortunately our liberal media types are so desperate to get a ‘veteran’ who agrees with their political viewpoints they don’t do their basic homework and check the records.

MP, what would you call someone who lies about their military experience? Thats the people Rush is talking about.

Yup. That poor slob from media matters dot org has got to be wondering why he couldn't have gone on with Stephen Schuster. Or Olbermann. Or even Martha Stewart.

And it must be hard for Tucker, Joe Scarborough, and Pat Buchannon to work at the super-partisian MessNBC.

He is one of the only true independant thinkers on TV. I never miss his show, but working in a TV shop, I never miss a lot of shows. But I do like Tucker.

Do not accuse me of lying without proof. I heard the original Limbaugh comment. You sir, are mistaken, blinded by your partisanship, or a yourself bearing false witness.

Yeah, I know. And Uncle George was living in Michigan. However, I think of Mormons as Utah, Inc. I am sick of Mitt and his $ 500,000,000 and I wish that he would take a long vacation.

I just can't see, Ed, putting a heathen cultist in the White House.

By the way, is Reid in line after the Speaker of the House to be President?

No. The Senate majority leader is not even in the line of succession:

    1. Vice President of the United States
    2. Speaker of the House
    3. President pro Tempore of the Senate
    4. Secretary of State
    5. Secretary of the Treasury
    6. Secretary of Defense
    7. Attorney General
    8. Secretary of the Interior
    9. Secretary of Agriculture
    10. Secretary of Commerce
    11. Secretary of Labor
    12. Secretary of Health & Human Services
    13. Secretary of Housing & Urban Development
    14. Secretary of Transportation
    15. Secretary of Energy
    16. Secretary of Education
    17. Secretary of Veterans’ Affairs
    18. Secretary of Homeland Security

By the way the current President pro Tempore of the Senate is Senator Robert C. Byrd of West Virginia. It is the fourth time that he has held this position. By custom the President pro Tempore is the senior senator of the majority party.
