    Just blame the Iraqis!

Once it is no longer our fault, it is also no longer our responsibility and we can walk away (not cut and run, but cut and walk briskly) with a clear conscience.

[neocon]See, it's not our fault, we handed them liberty on a silver platter, so if they just want to squander it by killing each other, hey, we can't help it. They are obviously a backwards and barbaric people - they don't even speak English, most of them - or they would make the sectarians and insurrectionists stop it. We gave them and election and help them with their constitution (including provisions to make the oil contracts sacrosanct), well, now it's up to them to make it work.[/neocon]

Will this teach us that republicanism can"t be exported? Fat chance of that! The purpose of the adventure was to break up the country and secure the oil fields for our owner/oil barons

This reminded me of The Simpsons episode where former President Bush and Barbara move in across the street.

After learning that Bush spanked Bart, Homer says,
