Last Saturday I went on my own for the 1st time since the divorce and went to the movies and saw "Fireproof" Let me just tell you what an awesome movie this is. First of all if you liked "Facing the Giants" then this is made by the same people. Second, Focus on the Family gave it 5 out of 5 popcorn boxes and they dont give movies their highest ratings very often. I thought the movie was going to be about fixing marriages--something I didnt know if I could handle but I got in the theatre with my popcorn and pop and was utterly surprised. The movie while yes was about the healing of a broken marriage was more to me about the journey the man took yes using the book "The Love Dare" and finally understanding that God was the source to give him the power and the path to love his wife. Their marriage broke apart because neither one had God's love in them to love the other. I just had to tell you all what an awesome movie this is and I recommnd this movie to every Christian whether single, married, or widowed who is seeking answers in their life (which is probably about all of us..lol) :praying:. As I left the movie theatre I saw couples leave who when they entered were on the brink of divorce and searching for answers (you could just tell) and when they left they were holding hands and talking which you could see was more than had happened in the past couple of months.

For me it was knowing that I can take this time and yeah my marriage is over but get back to the basics in my faith and allow the Lord to heal my broken heart and to renew my spirit and let Him be my guide and comfort and allow Him to get me through the next few months with the new baby and blessing my finances and everything so that someday I can have a relationship with another man and not have to make the same mistakes in this relationship as I did in my marriage.

We saw the movie tonight. It was excellent. I phoned a couple of people afterwards and recommended they go see it. I don't think anyone would be disappointed.

I loved the movie "Facing the Giants"; I didn't know if it had ever been talked about here before and thought about mentioning it. I was astounded to see such a movie on regular TV, but am not surprised that it has been repeatedly shown because of its quality. It's not often that I have to squint my eyes to stop tears like I did when the wife was telling him she was pregnant. Being made by the same people is a good enough reference for me to go see it! Can't think of another production company I'd rather support.

I'm glad you took a chance to see the movie-----I haven't seen it yet but will plan on it when it comes to town

Your post is well timed-----however----it is in a Baptist Only debate forum----since there is nothing to debate I am therefore moving your thread to the All Other Discussions forum--------there it will be open for Christians of all denominations to discuss(and not just debate) and comment on

    Fire Proof - The Movie

I don't usually go to the Movies... And, usually avoid "Christian" Flicks because they tend to be "sappy".

Not so Fireproof. My wife took me to see it and it was **very** well done. Cinematically, Plot-wise, Special Effects... All superb first rate execution.

I, too, have recommended it at every oppurtunity...
