    No, I'm not going to marry my first cousin. I'm trying to see if we can develop a legal model based off interstate recognition of first cousin marriages and apply it to gay marriages.

    I'm afraid you're going to have to go back to the Hapsburgs and other European nobility and royals. (And various and sundry land owners and merchants.) The dates would go back at least to the 1600s.

    Kinda smacks of the irony that the king of the British Empire, the Kaiser of Germany, and the Czar of the Russian Empire were (all three of them!) directly related to each other during the days immediately preceeding and the subsequent time periods both during and immediately following "the War TO END ALL WARS!!! (a/k/a World War I). :tonofbricks:
