It is so sad, that this nation has gone from a healthy respect for life to a point where we not only disrespect life for a night of jollies in the back seat, we not only make it the official law of the land, we promote it, advertise it, and show our pride in it. Murder has been a fact since Cain and Abel. But guess what, back then, Cain was ashamed. Murder demands accountability and folks brought to justice. Over the decades, we have redefined murder to exclude what we today call abortion. We have gone from committing the sin, then hiding it and being ashamed, to setting abortion apart from murder, making it legal, and having a national party over the fact. I have used this phrase before, but believe it to be accurate. It is no less than the United States rubbing God's nose in sin, and a despicable one.

For the people on the fence over the issue (can you believe that, anyone on the fence about this issue), they always say, no abortion except for rape, incest, and life of the mother. Over 90% of abortions are for convenience. This is a fact. We average about 1 million abortions a year in this nation. Of the less than 10% that are incest, rape, or life endangering the mother, only 1% (about) is for the life of the mother. There is no good argument for abortion for rape or incest. There is no life to save or any ethical or moral reason for taking the life of an infant. No excuse whatsoever. For the less than 1% that threaten the life of the mother, take a look at this quote from the NEJM:

Today it is possible for almost any patient to be brought through pregnancy alive, unless she suffers from a fatal illness such as cancer or leukemia, and, if so, abortion would be unlikely to prolong, much less save, life.

In other words, the ability to save the woman's life has greatly increased as of late. There are extremely rare cases where abortion might be justified, and the mother would be expected to live a normal life, but as you can see from above, lots of these cases, the mother is in the latter stages of a terminal illness.

In other words, justified abortions are a small fraction of less than 1% of the ones performed. 99.99+% of abortions are nothing but brutal, premeditated murder. If we the people respected life and demanded that abortions be very, very rare, this would cease to be an issue.

If we were following God's commands because we love Him then guess what. There would be no need for 90% convenience abortions or 4.9% rape and incest abortions. That is why sex is confined to the opposite sex, to a married spouse, and to that married spouse for life. We are so focused on the life of the mother, we forget about the main problem, a 99% slaughter rate.

The Lord did not create rules of behavior about sex to make us boring, or to deny us a good time, but He created them for our own good. The five or ten minutes of fun that those who choose to ignore the Lord, result in a multitude of problems, unwanted children, abortion clinics, bills that have to be paid by the taxpayer. Worst of all, it dulls the American people's sense of justice, respect for life, responsibility to raise children we create, and very clearly sends out a signal to a lost world we do not need to depend on the Lord for any guidance.

Tell you what folks, this is but one of a vicious downward spiral we are on. Add to that the gay marriage and rights crap, the governmental dependence, the lack of any reverence for the Lord, no goals or dreams, and most of all no self accountability, how long do you think this nation can last?

How long is the Lord who has blessed us way beyond other nations in history going to tolerate having His nose rubbed in sin and making a mockery of His Word?

Outstanding thoughts S/N. One sentence caught my attention and explains some earlier thoughts I posted on another thread.

Obama's Chicago pastor by the name of Wright was vilified when he said "Not God Bless America but God Damn America". Perhaps Wright said it for the wrong reason but is it rational for anyone to believe that God will not punish, yes Damn, America for what we have done and continue to do. If we were a pagan nation perhaps there would be some excuse and God might show mercy, but a nation where the majority claim to be Christian and yet murder over 55,000,000 babies.

Think the ole "reverend" though was NOT addressing babies being aborted though, but more of ole 'white devils' running america!

For the big secret on abortion is that the black community has been ravaged by that, due to liberal and anti christian "christian clergy" that have decided to approve abortion in their community, and refuse to heed and obey the bible and the lord, they are what God would call false shepherds, leading the people astray!

For many black clergy, it seems, would rather be known as a liberal democrate first, loyal to that party agenda, then to that of God!

margaret Singer, founder planned parenthood, was cozy with hitklers views on natural selection, for just as he saw jews as inferior race to be killed off, she saw Blacks as inferior race, and set up those abortion clinics as a waty to commit legalized genocide on Blacks! She wanted to use Black clergy to spread that into community, God help them, many of them did and still keep doing it!

I refer you to the MLK thread going on. Being for civil rights in the 60s and standing up for treating human beings decent has NOTHING to do with being a liberal today. It is a false conclusion and has no basis. I cannot understand in my mind today how those who were in charge of state and local governments that treated blacks the way they did and they way I observed could possibly be a Christian. What does that have to do with the sin of abortion? I do not see the linkage, MLK and the Civil RIghts movement and abortion.

the point is its supreme irony and also pharisee like hyprocisy to have civil right leaders, same ones who claim to be "reverends" of the Lord jesus, to be totally against getting civil rights for most deservingamong the black community, all those millions of unborn aborted!

they speak of civil roghts, but refuse to grant those towards the babies, and just smile and follow the comany line, while black genocide keeps rolling along!

I posted the following on poncho's thread!

The following is an article by C. Everette Koop, Surgeon General under Reagan, and eminent pediatric surgeon. This article was written in the early 1980's and published in a pro-life pamphlet Abortion in America by Gary Bergel. Koop's remarks are prophetic. Some days ago I mentioned that the baby boomers has sat on their thumbs while 30% or more of the people who would be paying their Social Security and Medicare were butchered. Koop takes note of this problem and mentions its impact on euthanasia of the elderly. It is worth the read though I doubt it will change the mind of those who support abortion!

As Francis Schaffer did write, once a culture allows for babies to be killed off without any reservations, then it goes to old persons and those society deems "least needed" to also be killed off, so looks like what Hitler failed to do, America is well on the way!
