The acid test to see if your walk matches your talk. Worth thinking real serious about before committing to an opinion!!!!!

This is when the "NIMBY" syndrome rears its ugly head!

Where is the parental responsibility in all this?

But on the biblical side, this is just another failure of male leadership in the home. It is the father who must bear the primary responsibility for instilling respect for right and wrong and authority into his children. He must set and maintain behavioral boundaries.

When men don't perform their necessary function in the home, we should expect more, not less, of these kinds of things.

It is very rare that I ever agree with the Brady Campaign, but on this point, they are right on:

Brady Campaign Decries Freed Jonesboro Killer's Right to Buy Guns

I agree. It is a great embarrassament.

Attention those of you who live in the Memphis area. Be aware that you currently likely have a cold blooded murderer living amongst you, without any record of his crime, and that he could be legally armed with a gun. His name is Mitchell Johnson and he is 21 years old. If you see him, please keep your children as far away from him as possible. The police will not be legally able to warn you about this, but I can.

And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man.

[6] "Whoever sheds the blood of man,
by man shall his blood be shed,
for God made man in his own image.

I see no minimum age requirement for the carrying out of the "shedding the blood" penalty in this verse.

No Ben. It is when liberals vote to allow a cold blooded murderer to go free after seven years, with no record, not informing anyone where he lives, and GIVING HIM THE RIGHT TO BUY A GUN AGAIN LEGALLY that liberals should be blamed for this. Did you read the article about the Brady gun control campaign in which I agreed with on a rare occassion?

I have had murders in my home after release. I have seen lives changed. I am not saying this a case of that happening.

Joseph, you didn't have a response to my question about God's providence in using murders to carry out His plan. You would have killed them. God choice to use them.

David had a man killed because he slept with his wife.

Paul had a hand in putting countless Christians to death.

I am jst saying a 13 year old's sense of reality is the same as it is for an adult. I deal with them everyday of my life. I know. They are still children. There logical thought process is fully developed. If you don't believe that go to a middle school and hang with them for a while.

We are quick to use absolutes. We need to consider each situtation. I grieve for the families of the victims and the victims. Jesus himself took the place of a criminal on a hill called Calvary. His grace exstends to all even murders and people we might not like.

Teens can be rehabed and make productive members of society. The gun thin is a issue, I do have problems with. He should not ever have the right to legally own firearms.

Regardless of your views, he has been freed. What should a Christians response be to this young man? To lead him to the Saviour and to forgive. We aren't given a list of exeptions. Like it does not fit into my personal views.

To thourghly answer all remarks thrown my way I do have a child. Dude you need leave my family out of it. That is just plain trying to cause trouble. I cannot state my side without be attacked by some one who I disagree with.

You didn't have a response to my question about God's providence in stoning others for lesser crimes and for striking dead a couple in the early Church for dishonesty. If I were in charge, yes, I would have had this murderer executed. But I am also willing to compromise with the soft on crime liberals like you and had him locked up for life. To me, it matters not as long as you keep him away from me and my family, and the next gun he will buy with the blessing of the government.

I have spent the last 8 years of my life hanging out with them for eight hours a day, five days a week, and some days even longer hours. I think I understand their thought processes, and I still say that if they commit cold blooded murder, they should forfeit their life.

    1. You are quick to reject absolutes.

    2. Jesus also allowed both those murderers to die on the two trees on either side of him.

Teens can be rehabed and make productive members of society. The gun thin is a issue, I do have problems with. He should not ever have the right to legally own firearms.
1. You know my thoughts about rehab, as they have already been stated in this very thread.

    2. He will probably legally have a gun in his hands within the next 30 days. Everyone sleep tight not knowing where this murderer lives now.

Regardless of your views, he has been freed. What should a Christians response be to this young man? To lead him to the Saviour and to forgive. We aren't given a list of exeptions. Like it does not fit into my personal views.
I have no problem preaching the Word of God to this murderer, and allowing God in his soveriegn will to draw him to himself. That does not change my view on justice in this life.

To thourghly answer all remarks thrown my way I do have a child. Dude you need leave my family out of it. That is just plain trying to cause trouble. I cannot state my side without be attacked by some one who I disagree with.
Anyone who subjects his children to known murderers is irresponsible, IMO. I love my son too much to invite known murderers into my house where they could do the same to me and my family.

An opinion is like a nose Joeseph, we all have one. I know the people who come into my house. One crime doesn't make a career criminal.

I work with teens daily and if you can tell me they are fully developed intelluctually then you are dead wrong. Hormones raging thru their bodies. A young teen is not an adult.

Joseph who is going to win the world series this year. Evidently you are a prophet. "He will probally have a gun in 30 days"

We can disagree and that is fine. I am a good dad. I try to be a good youth minister. Don't attack me because I don't agree with your kill em all attitude.

You call me a liberal. Liberals call me a fundie. I am must be doing something right.

Joeseph what about David, Paul, and Moses. It is a shame you wouldn't share a meal with them since they are murders. I will at the marriage feast of the Lamb. I guess you will be out of luck.

You see God's hand throughout the Bible Joesph. He used people who were murders, cheats, thiefs and just general thugs to carry out His divine will. If you were in charges countless Psalms would not be in the Bible. Isreal would still be enslaved and the greatest missonary ever would never had preached a sermon. I will error on the side of grace. God changes people.

I never said he should have gun rights and he should be released only after estensive rehab and screening. If he doesn't measure up then lock him up or even the death penalty. Not all murders are socio-paths. God dealt in a case by case basis, why cant we Joesph?

You think, I would just let any one in my house. That man is an evangilist. I was sharing a meal with a Christian brother. I am so irresponsible. Joey get a clue.

    Joseph,

Why don't you ever point out where I agree with you? We do on some issues. Even on this very thread. Why must you attack me. Why are you so hostile.

By the way Jesus took the place of Barrabas. Joesph, he was a murder.

    1. Point out where we agree and I will give you a sticker. I am not sure what you want here.

    2. The point of a debate is not to point out where we agree, but to discuss where we disagree and make our case for our position.

    3. I have not attacked you. You are overly sensitive.

    4. BTW, Jesus also allowed the two theives on either side of him to be executed the very same night as he took Barrabas' place. He also appointed the government as his agent of wrath against evil doers in Romans 13. I think it is clear that God approves of the death penalty for murderers. I also think it is clear that in his soveriegn will and mercy, he allows some to go free. His will is done either way. I am only left to express my opinion, exert political pressure for my opinion, and then leave the end result in God's hands. My opinion is that all rapists and murderers should be executed. I would, however, in the spirit of wishy washy "moderates" everywhere, compromise with soft on crime liberals such as yourself and accept life in prison without parole, if it will keep them away from me and my family. Yet, if God should show grace and mercy to one of them and let them go free, not my will, but his be done. I may not understand his plan, but I accept it. That does not mean that I won't hold those humans who push for it politically responsible.

And so the foolish saith - thus shall everyone who hath committed a crime among you - having served his penalty - be stripped of his rights and marked forever

Wow I'm so glad we follow your rules
let's look at history through your eyes - American Independence - Hrm wasnt that against some sort of law?

Simply put - they weren't killed - not their fault - it in reality is every adult American's fault. So they sadly have paid the (too small) price for their crime - and as such should be considered the equal of any American - with all the rights appertaining to.

Joseph, I am glad that you chose to refrain from idiot. Matthew 5:22 says: "But whoever is angry at his brothe with out a cause shall be in danger of judgment; He who sayys Raca shall be in danger of the council, who says you fool shall be in danger of Hell fire.

One crime does not make a 'career criminal'? Well in this case, he was caught after his first real adult crime. He does have an excellent start on one though.

When will you stand up to those deviants of society and say NO? What will it take?
