    This sentence alone from the OP article should tell you where this author and those who agree with him stand...

    "The Constitution is also waved around as if it too is some sort of Bible to be religiously believed in."

    Nuff said.

    The people at L'Abri have always known that Franky Schaeffer was a bit of a loose cannon. He's really an odd bird.

    Wow! What a total turnaround!

    I first heard of Franky as both he and his father were cited in Tim Fisher's The Battle For Christian Music (which is one of those "traditional-only" all contemporary is bad polemics from the Greenville BJU circle) , where both were being cited criticizing the shallowness of contemporary worship. I knew Francis did that, but he also had a lot of good warnings to conservatives about politics. (Michael Horton's Beyond culture Wars referred to him a lot).

    So now, for Franky, it seems the criticism of the "Christian ghetto" approach of evangelicalism has turned into a wholesale abandonment of Christianity. (at least it looks like he's attacking "holy books" and such).
    What a shame.
