    That's illogical.

    What next? Buy plasma televisions for those who might steal plasma televisions to keep them from the sin of stealing? :laugh:

    As usual, you miss the point. If you are against abortion, would it not make sense to do something that is proven to dramatically reduce the incidence, regardless of who pays? You would rather let "babies" be "murdered" than to publicly fund contraception for some?

    Why must birth control be free? You have s3x, you don't want a baby, do what any person SHOULD do and prevent it yourself. Yes, that's called responsibility and it comes with the privilege of s3x. WalMart has birth control pills for $4 a month. Condoms are cheap as well. A diaphram is $80 and is good for a year. Spermicides and sponges are inexpensive over the counter. Why must the nation pay for someone to have s3x? I don't expect anyone else to pay for MY care - I pay for it myself. Let's teach that concept to everyone - personal responsibility. It's a very cool thing!

    Again, the point is missed entirely. This is not hard.

    If spending money to get anti abortion candidates elected is well spent, wouldn't supplying some segment of the population with contraceptives if it reduces the number of abortions also be well spent money? Not everyone is responsible, but nearly everyone has sex.

    Why can't people spend their own money? Contraceptives are not expensive. Beer is more expensive and many seem to have no problem acquiring that.

    But if they can't or won't, what price do you put on life in the womb? So the antiabortion movement is really about money and not the sanctity of life?

    Can't, I won't buy because it's NOT that expensive and if they seriously cannot afford it, there is help.

    But won't? Yeah, I don't think they would worry about it if it were free either.

    Illogical. They can't or won't pay for their own contraceptives, but they'll find a way to pay for an abortion that costs 5-8 (or more) times as much?

    Or, to put it another way: you'd rather we taxpayers pay a lower price for contraceptives rather than the higher price for abortions...except that continually funding contraceptives is a much higher long-term cost. So who's actually "all about the money"? Those that want you and I to continually fund immoral behavior, or those that say "take responsibility for your actions"?

    Let's make it mandatory that men are forced to provide for all the children they father. Garnish their wager and/or welfare benefits if necessary.

    I have no doubt that drug addicts that are provided free drugs would commit less theft and robbery...

    I was not sure if I should post the following here or start a new thread. Seems there are enough new threads being started all the time, so I decided to post the information here. This is for information only. I am not making a stand either way with this post. I do not know if there are more abortions, percentage wise, in the Bible Belt or in other areas.

    CTB, I would say that Christians divorce at the same rate as others, and are not insulated from the society at large. It is likely that Christian teens have sex at the same rates as well, but feel like if they plan ahead, they are planning to "sin". If they ate overcome with desire in the heat of the moment, it removes some of it being their fault...Hence lower rate of contraceptive use.
