Actually, they do if you count everyone who uses the label "Christian" but a person who actually follows their beliefs as a Christian (goes to church, reads their Bible, etc.) are much less likely to divorce according to statistics.

I wonder how much is tied to poverty rather than Christian beliefs.

So I either pay for their birth control or pay for their abortion.

M.P., what's wrong with abortion ? In your words, not what you suppose to be mine.

Many of the fathers - if they were known - are working under the table.

    >I wonder how much is tied to poverty rather than Christian beliefs.

At least half? Now, if their Christian congregation would guarantee to help raise the kids for the first 18 years . . . .

In the CRC when children are baptized the congregation promises to serve in loco parentis. Our congregation have a semi-secret fund that is used to help church members.

But wouldn't that guarantee having even more babies? "It doesn't matter if we can afford them. Church will pay for them."

Instead, I do think churches should step in when needed but the parents need to get off their butts and get working. You made a baby? Pay your dues just like everyone else does.

Bill, why do you have such difficulty in following a discussion?

The question was whether "pregnacy" in the south is more related to poverty than to Christian beliefs - not whether "abortion" in the south is more related to poverty than to Christian beliefs.

    Sigh...

Targus thinks there is a lower pregnancy rate among women with Christian beliefs? Or with "real" Christian beliefs?

In my book less abortion is always a good thing. Also, lower rates of STD's are a good thing as well.

Perhaps you could look into some sort of extension course to assist you with your reading comprehension deficit problem.

Then you're indirectly in favour of more abortions. I really don't think you've thought this one through...

Then you are advocating that women who are abstinent should be provided free contraceptives in the remote chance that they should ever be raped?

At what age in your opinion should all girls begin contraception to ensure no pregnancy from rape?

    Ten, eleven, twelve...?

Nope, didn't say that. Just questioning the assumption behind the assertion.

So I have to be in favor of ta payer subsidized contraceptives or I am in favor of abortion? See this is what liberalism does to the brain.
