I really love the idea of Logos, but I hate what they include in the packages. Only reason I don't use the software. I would prefer other commentaries and resources at a reasonable price.

Journal of Theological Interpretation, vol 1 [LINK]
    by Joel B. Green (2007)

Critical biblical scholarship as developed and defined since the mid-eighteenth century has played a significant and welcome role in pressing us to take biblical texts seriously on their own terms and diverse contexts. With the postmodern turn, additional questions have surfaced—including the theological and ecclesial location of biblical interpretation, the significance of canon and creed for biblical hermeneutics, the historical reception of biblical texts, and other more pointedly theological interests. How might we engage interpretively with the Christian Scriptures so as to hear and attend to God’s voice? The Journal of Theological Interpretation aims to serve these agendas.

    Key Features
    • Theological exegesis of selected biblical texts
    • Theological method and the role of Scripture in theology and ethics
    • History of reception or history of interpretation of biblical texts
    • Review essays interacting with key books—contemporary and classical
    • Hermeneutical challenges in theological exegesis

Astonished: Recapturing the Wonder, Awe, and Mystery of Life with God (Vyrso LINK) . . . (KINDLE)
    by Mike Erre (2014)

In Astonished, Pastor Mike Erre calls Christians away from simplistic formulas to honest and rugged faith in the mysterious and unpredictable God.

God is more about deepening the mystery of faith, not removing it. Jesus should get bigger the longer we walk with him. Life and faith should grow to be more profound and wondrous, not less.
In Astonished, you will see how we are far more comfortable with tips, steps and techniques for living, than we are with ruthlessly trusting the mysterious God of the Bible. God asks us to follow him into tension, frustration, and difficulty because he wants our trust, not just our intellectual agreement. He calls us to seek Him even as we live in awe of all that is yet to be known about Him.
Astonished is an invitation to question in a culture that wants answers, to wonder in a world with little mystery left, and to believe in what is unseen and find it beautiful.

Songs in the Key of Solomon: In the Word and In the Mood [Vyrso] . . . . [Kindle]
    by Anita Renfroe, John Renfroe

Ladies, are you tired of trying to engage your man in something he is reluctant to do? Let’s face it: husbands are not normally seen running to bookstores to buy a couple’s devotional.
And guys, are you tired of feeling like the term “devotional” is code for “boring? You may be thinking, Please, not one more thing to check off my daily to-do list. Plus, you and your wife have different views on what intimacy is all about, right?
If either of you is wondering if you’re living more with your “roommate” than your “soulmate,” then this devotional can help you meet on common ground and discover each other in new ways. You won’t even need an alarm clock to wake you when your “devotional time” is finished.
Filled with insights from a real couple on real issues, Songs in the Key of Solomon will get you and your spouse laughing, thinking, sharing, touching, and praying – possibly all during the same reading. Each offering in this devotional is designed to spark connections around issues that matter, so you’ll deepen your emotional, spiritual, and physical unity and ignite new levels of intimacy. (One devotional involves a bathtub and some candles...try not to get stuck on that one page over and over again.)
Here is an invitation to hear the music in your marriage – maybe for the first time…or maybe once again.

The Dating Manifesto: A Drama-Free Plan for Pursuing Marriage with Purpose [Vyrso] . . . [Kindle]
    by Lisa Anderson

Your attitudes about marriage and the path to marriage are wrong. Some of them you’ve inherited and some you’ve simply bought—hook, line, and sinker—or made up yourself. They have translated into bad action (or no action) in dating and relationships. But it’s not too late; you can break the cycle of dating dysfunction and learn to honor marriage, marry well, and live intentionally while you wait. Lisa Anderson’s story proves it’s possible.

The Dating Manifesto is neither a cheesy formula for finding a spouse nor a feel-good book about how the person for you is “out there” if you only “believe.” Instead, it’s a challenge to wise up, own your junk, and chart a bold new course for your relationship future.

Hell Is Real (But I Hate to Admit It) [Vyrso] . . . [Kindle]
by Brian Jones (Blog - Senior Pastor Central)

Does hell matter? Pastor Brian Jones wants readers to know the truth.
Jones believes that the reason most Christians don’t tell their friends about Jesus has nothing to do with not knowing how—it’s because they don’t think they need to. As Jones writes, the first four years he was a pastor, he didn’t believe in hell himself. Today, he shares his story of discovering the truth that hell exists—and why many Christians are afraid to believe in it.
Hell Is Real motivates Christians who have grown complacent in their view of hell. Drawing on the teachings of Jesus, Jones leads readers into a head-on collision with apocalyptic urgency—the all-consuming, inspiring conviction that will overcome readers when they realize that hell is real and they can help save people from going there.

Enough, Finding More by Living with Less [Vyrso] . . . [Kindle]
    by Will Davis Jr.

The American way of life pushes people to constantly strive for more—more money, more stuff, more clout. But how much is enough? And how do we know when we have too much of a good thing?
In this provocative, paradigm-shifting book, Will Davis Jr. challenges readers to discover the peace that comes through contentment with what we have and compassion for those in need. Through surprising statistics, scriptural insight, and real-life stories, Davis gently leads readers to consider living with less in order to do more for the kingdom. Thought-provoking discussion questions and short chapters make this a perfect study for small groups. No one will come away from this powerful book unchanged.

Discover the Mystery of Faith: How Worship Shapes Believing [Vyrso] . . . [ Kindle]
    by Glenn Packiam (2013)

What if the way we worship isn't just an expression of our faith, but is what shapes our faith?
The Church has believed this about the way we worship and pray together for centuries: The way we worship becomes the way we believe. But if this is true, it’s time to take a closer look at what we say and sing and do each week. Drawing from his own discovery of ancient worship practices, Glenn Packiam helps us understand why the Church made creedal proclamations and Psalm-praying a regular part of their worship. He shares about why the Eucharist was the climactic point of their corporate “re-telling of the salvation story.”
When our worship becomes a rich feast, our faith is nourished and no longer anemic. The more our worship speaks of Christ, the more we enter into the mystery of faith.

I'd recommend the Lexham Bible Guide on Genesis.
It provides an overview of commentaries and viewpoints.
If you have a large library, it provides links to the books where you can do further reading.

I purchased it a few years ago so I went with the lexicon.

I went with the Lexicon, too. I already had a good Genesis commentary, and the Galatians commentary looked more like a collection of notes than an actual commentary.

Another free book for the month of March

Here are a few quotes from What's Wrong with the World [LINK] by G.K. Chesterton,

“When a man really tells the truth, the first truth he tells is that he himself is a liar.”

“The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting. It has been found difficult; and left untried.”

“In all legends men have thought of women as sublime separately but horrible in a herd.”

Taken as a whole, What’s Wrong with the World attempts to advance a conservative social view of twentieth century British affairs. Individually, these essays offer sage advice on political and cultural issues for today. This collection contains essays on feminism, education, imperialism, and more, and together amount to a pointed critique of the prevailing sociological method. The problems with the world run deep—in this volume, Chesterton assails hypocrisy and mediocrity characteristic of the modern era.

    G. K. Chesterton was an English writer, philosopher, dramatist, journalist, literary and art critic during the late 19th and early 20th century. His work, What's Wrong with the World was published in 1910.

    · the difference between “good” secrets and “bad” secrets
    · what confession is (and isn’t)

The Wiersbe Bible Study Series: 1 & 2 Thessalonians [Vyrso LInk] . . . [Kindle]

Encourage Each Other and Be Ready
The Thessalonian church was struggling with an unbalanced approach to the Second Coming. While they eagerly awaited Christ’s return, many believers were placing more value on their future hope than on peoples’ current needs. Paul addressed this concern with a message that still resonates today. This study examines Paul’s second letter to the Thessalonians and shares the need for a church that is focused on both heaven and earth.
The Wiersbe Bible Study Series delivers practical, in-depth guides to selected books of the Bible. Featuring insights from Dr. Warren W. Wiersbe’s Be Ready commentary, this eight-week study includes engaging questions and practical applications that will help you connect God’s Word with your life.
