I am not speaking against, segregating, or putting down women. Please don't accuse me of racism. I too am a woman. But I strongly believe against a woman leading our nation.
I don't want to get into an argument, but here are some verses:
1 Timothy 2:12-13, "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."
13:"For Adam was first formed, then Eve."
    and
Titus 2:4-5,"That they (women) may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,"
5: "To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."
As for an African-american man leading our nation, I have no problem with it as long as he falls in the standards for president.
Please don't bash me for getting a little off topic. I was just posting some verses as to why I believe the way I do.

Your comments are appropriate for the leadership of a local church assembly, not for the leadership of a nation. The United States government and its subordinate governmental authorities are not the church.

Application is everything, Clean1. Those verses have to do with the church, not politics.

Clean1 I agree with you. Men are to be the head of the home and men are to be the head of the church. Those who want a Secular government against God do not want to implement scripture into their Godless endevours.

    You are right on track.

There are forward thinking people, and there are those who are drug along, kicking and screaming, as progress is made; using their narrow Biblical interpretations as justification for trying to impose their misguided views on society as a whole. Believing in equality and that women can be political leaders does not make one's endeavors "Godless". I worry for you, RevM...dinosaurs become extinct!

Forward thinking people, progress, narrow, misgiuded, dinasaurs, and extinct. All in the same sentence. That was loaded with liberal pejoratives.

Some how men in leadership in the home and in the church is not an inequality. But it becomes an inequality when the principle is moved to government? Im just asking.

Or would you apply all those pejoratives to God? And by the way, any government without god is a godless endeavor. isnt that what you want? A governement without God?

I have no desire to see your narrow religious beliefs concerning women being the head of our secular government made into law into this country, nor do I support your view. If that makes me Godless in your narrow viewpoint, so be it.

Fortunately, only a minority of your fellow citizens agree with your anachronistic viewpoint.

In my opinion, it would be smart on her part to not run. I don't think she could win nationwide in the general, and I think she believes that as well.

Of course, I'm also scared to death that she might actually pull it off if she did run in the general. You never know for a fact the way things will turn out until it happens. President Hillary...ewwwwwwwww!!!!! I sure hope not.

By the by, I am also one who does not wish to see a woman as President.

It seems to me that things in this country really started to go downhill when the women's lib movements errupted a few decades ago. I am thankful to have a mother who continued on in her biblical role as a keeper of the home, an obedient wife, and a wonderful Christian role-model for her children. I take many of my political leanings from the example set forth by my mother when I was a child, this included.

If that puts me in the narrow-minded, extinct dinosaur column as well, then so be it. I would rather have a straight and narrow mind than a broad and winding one.

I believe there is a clear delineation of spiritual acumen stated here. And as usual KenH is found wanting.

Those uppity women, it's all their fault! Funny though, how they weren't the ones in charge of the country.

    Nancy Pelosi leading the house.

    Hillary Clinton leading the senate.

Let's all wave goodbye to our money and liberty.

'Course, we've been waving goodbye to it with republicans in charge, but at a slower rate...

Women have never been "in charge" of the country, as in having most of the power within the government.

However, they did and do have a strong sway on many politicians because they make up half of the eligible voters in this country.

I don't know whether the liberal movement in this country caused the women's lib movement, or if it was vice versa, but they both gained momentum around the same time, and they've both, imo, had a negative effect on this country.

If some men think so lowly of women, why on earth do they spend a lifetime chasing after them?

I know, in Canada, is was 1919 before women were deemed to be persons. It took the actions of 5 brave women who took their case to the British Parliament and got things changed in Canada.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Because to the men who do their thinking with their hormones, women are objects to be possessed, not equal and intelligent human beings. Old habits and beliefs die hard, I guess.

Are women unequal in the home and church setting? If not why is it different when we apply biblical precepts to everyday life. since we are christians every aspect of life should be filled with gods precepts.Even government.

A government without God is a government against God.

As far as having a narrow view, that may be true but I know of another narrow view that I will stand by also.

    Mt 7:14
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Narrow is not willing to compromise Gods' Word. I appreciate the encouragement.

PS. I did not get that from Rush Limbaugh

Different is not unequal. Different is different. Viva la difference!

I am thankful people who think like you do about this, RM, are a small minority, and shrinking.

 OK, quit with the jokes, and tell us why you think you are superior to a woman? That is the only reason I can think of to explain your attitude toward females. What female in your life hardened you so toward the entire gender?
