further From Formal Equivalence translation mean more Interpretation?

    Of what the authors really meant, instead of just what they wrote?

    Knowing what God really meant to say when He inspired the original authors.

    wouldn't that be best served by rendering the actual words chosen by the HS into English, instead of trying to make 'educated guess" on what he actually meant?

    I am thinking mainly like times where the HS desired to use terms such as propiation, and yet we decide to translate it differently!
