    Hi all. [IMG]

I'm just curious to see what gas prices are like in your neck of the woods. Ours are usually pretty high compared to other parts of the country.

I have a big Ford E-350 van right now that we are about to retire. We are going Friday to pick up a new-to-us Taurus station wagon that has a modest 3.0 liter engine in it. It'll be a treat not to fork out $60.00 a fill up! ;)

Right now the average price for a gallon of gasoline in my area (Southern CA) is around $2.05.

Oy! And I thought I had it bad! Last time I filled my tank (15.5 gallon tank, and it was blinking the "empty" light at me), it cost me 26 bucks. I've seen it anywhere from $1.75 to $1.95 for regular unleaded. It goes up into the $2 range for anything higher than that. And diesel? [IMG] I passed a station today selling it for $2.49.

Oh my...well, I live in Southern California too and the prices are really rising. It doesn't surprise me that Mom of Five is seeing prices over $2.00....Here, It was $1.85 a gallon the last time I got gas (about a week ago) Yesterday I saw that the price went up to $1.98 for regular...I always use regular, I should use premium since my car is getting older, but I can not afford it.

I need to fill up tomorrow, I'll try to remember to let you all know how much it took to fill up my tank. I'm almost afriad to find out.

I forgot to mention that the price I quoted was for regular unleaded.

I can't afford the better stuff either. Especially with the porky pig I have been driving!
The van's been a faithful ol' girl but man, does it drink the gas! I hate car payments though, so we waited until we had the cash to buy a replacement outright.

Kelly, the station I was at a couple of days ago had diesel about 4 cents cheaper per gallon than the reg unleaded.

Can you imagine being a truck driver, having to pay those prices? The real bummer is that if these prices remain this high for much longer, those increased costs are going to be reflected in everything we buy. :(

$2.03 in Anaheim, $2.01 in La Habra.

Free in Los Angeles, a radio station was giving out free gas as a promo, plus, all folks at the gas station got free Krispy Kreme doughnuts!!!! Average wait time was 1 hour.

We only have one car payment left!!! Yipee!!! We are going to wait 3 months and take what we would be making as a car payment as a down payment on a truck. We hve been needing a truck for a long time.

By the way...you think that's bad? My husband commutes 130 miles round trip per day. Our gasoline expense is unbelievable. He has to fill up every other day.

Free Gas John? Where in L.A.? My family lives in L.A. and they might want to take advantage of that. (I'm sure they'll pass on the donuts, their health nuts, and thin and fit because of it)

Alas, the promotion ended at 10am. It was a promotion for the Jamie and Danny show (Click Here for the URL) on Star 98.7. Some of you may remember Danny as Danny Bonaduce from the Partrige Family. He's really cleaned up his act, gotten respectible, settled down, gotten married and started a family.

72.9 per litre here in our neck of the woods, Ontario, Canada. That is regular unleaded. That is about $2,88 per Imperial Gallon, or $2.70 per US gallon.

I heard it was 92.9 per litre in BC, Canada.

    Cheers,

    Jim

John, Danny Bonaduce also co-hosts a T.V. show called "The Other Half" with Dick Clark and another celebrity (that I can't remember his name) which is on every day. I didn't know he had a radio show.

What? You couldn't tell us "where" while there was still a chance of us taking advantage of it? What's up with that? huh? [IMG] ;)

    Zoinks!

12 miles, round trip. Granted, it takes me about half an hour each way, but 170 miles?!?! I don't know that I could stand it! Kudos to him for doing it, and kudos to you for putting up with him being gone for so long!

Wowsa! I had always heard that gas was way more expensive in other countrys. I guess that's why (on all of the footage I have seen from England) most of the cars are those teeny tiny toy looking cars.

I remember during the oil crisis of the '70's we started seeing really small cars here too. And long lines at the gas stations. And you could only buy gas on even or odd numbered days depending on your license plate number (or something like that. I was 8 or 9 at the time).

When I was single I drove a Ford Festiva (tiny car). It was great on gas and I used to joke that if I ran out all I had to do was open the door, stick my foot out and skate along. [IMG]

I guess we don't have it too bad here after all (yet :( ).

    Regular unleaded $1.59
Hey Sherrie, the lowest I can remember gas is $0.79.
170 miles daily? Wow, what a trip, we were driving 150 one way on Saturdays, and it took 3 hours. He must spend at least what? 4 hours travel a day.

I don't know what I was thinking...sometimes my brain doesn't work very good. If it's 65 miles one way...that would be 130 miles round trip...sorry. It takes him about 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours one way, depending on the traffic. It comes out to 3 to 4 hours of driving a day.

That's one of the reasons why He started his own company, so he wouldn't have to drive. We have a plan to move in a year (at that point his business should be making enough to support us all). That driving is a killer. I used to commute with him when we first moved here, and Jordan was 6 months old..we took him with us and had him in day care down there. He cried both directions until I quit my job when I got pregnant with Haven 15 months later.

To this day...I really hate long drives. I don't know how my husband does it day in and day out. People are maniacs on the road...it is not fun.

[IMG] That's okay John...I used to live that close to work too. I used to either walk or ride my bike every day.

We just couldn't afford to buy a house in that area. The apartement we were renting cost over $500.00 a month and it was only a 1 bedroom...and not in the best of neighborhoods and had no yard...and with Jordan...we just couldn't stay there. So, We moved way out of town to buy a brand new house for $110,000.00. instead of a broken down fixer upper for 3 times that.

    Your such a brat. [IMG]

Anywhere from $1.499/gallon to $1.699/gallon(for regular unleaded).

In some places auto diesel is cheaper than gasoline because it costs less to refine diesel than it does gasoline.

The cheapest I can remember: Well, I've heard stories about 28/cents a gallon; but in my driving days I remember in January 1999 paying 67.9 cents/gallon at a BP station in Gainesville, GA. apparently, Georgia has the lowest gasoline taxes in the US, and consequently the lowest gasoline prices on average.
