    Saw this on the BBC:

    and

I am in two minds about this - on the one hand I don't approve of their lifestyle but on the other I do think that they are entitled to the same rights as everyone else - I also think it is interesting that this is not a 'marriage' but a civil partnership....

hmm - what do you guys think?

    edit: here is the link

    Good, I say.

I think all state 'marriages' should be referred to as civil unions or partnerships, and let marriage stay within the realm of the church.

  3. Bad I say,
I am not for sodomites being recognized as normal.
I am not for sodomite "marriages" being recognized as normal because they are not normal. They are wicked and sinful.
I think recognizing them as if they were a normal couple would be like trying to look over their sin and think of them as normal. It would also be rewarding their sin.
We should love them in Christ ,but we still need to see that they are not normal.

God's Word tells us that homosexuality is sin - an abomination to God. Why? Because God created men and women with the differences needed to procreate life. Going against the "natural" relationship is sin! Pure and simple! No matter how today's governments want to reward sin, that still doesn't make it right! Homophobia? That certainly doesn't make sense. Why would anyone be afraid of those who openly refuse to obey God? We recognize that God doesn't accept this type of sin, but we don't fear the sinners, do we? We need to love the sinner - pray for their salvation. What we don't need to do is to love or condone the sin itself.

There is no argument against homosexual marriage in a secular society, and a questionable one in a theocratic society. Good for the UK.

Joshua's right - it's not for a secular government to impose Biblical morals on the citizens.

The government shouldn't consider whether or not an activity is a sin when making laws. Period. That's not their job.

It doesn't make any difference what side of the fence you stand on, any form of homosexuality is wrong!

It goes against all forms of reality, science, logic, and most important- God's Word!

But is it for the government to tell people what kind of personal morality they should practice, when their choices affect no one but themselves? Of course, others are affected by the choices we make, but I'm speaking of causing direct harm. I'm certainly not hurt in any way if a gay couple decides to have sex, live together or *gasp* get married. In such a case, my nose certainly has not been hit. And neither would any of yours.

I'd question the going against "reality, logic and science" stuff, though, Justified.

First an inch, then a mile!

Everything thing is brought on step further by giving an inch, and then it is easier to go to the next step!

I think they call it "desensatization". It has worked in changing the face of the world and the way we see things, for years! [IMG]

Desensitization + Pete Singer (and/or any variable of the same class) =

    1. same-sex partners
    leads to
    2. any number and type of partners
    leads to
    3. any age of partners
    leads to
    4. any species of partners
    leads to
    5. life like that described in Judges 21:25
    leads to
    6. survival of the fittest (better known as anarchy)

You think this world is bad now? Wait'll we get to level 6. Let's not even let it get to level 1.

I, for one, can't wait for the time described in Matthew 24:38-44. Even so, Come Lord Jesus !!

If Sodom were at all justified in what they practiced, they would never gotten to the state of total sin fit for destruction in God's eyes. The same warning pertains to the future, as God likens the sin of sodomy and the state of this coming time as a future Sodom. This is the path that sodomites are headed, dragging alot of moral people in with them. They need salvation, as all the lost, but never condone the sin. These people are heading for distruction. We as Christians should always see the sin as it is and not accept it. If the world is against the sin, praise God. If they place laws against sin, this has always been the way laws used to be placed, based on God's law.

The wickedness of sodomy has and always will affect us and all those around us. But, as most Christians of today, I suppose you would turn a cheek to their sin and say "It's none of my business", or,"As long as I don't do it, let them do as they please", rather than calling the sin for what it is.

I've noticed something. Everytime an argument against homosexuality is posted, Joshua and stubbornkelly "come out" against it. Are you guys trying to tell us something? Or are you just saying that if people want to sin up a storm, it's okay? Show me in the Bible where it allows for homosexuality. If you try to read and find it, you'll be reading for a long, long time. Bro. James

    Hi Bro. Reed,

I pray that you get your answer, we've all been waiting for a while now.

Hey... Houston is one of my ol' stompin' grounds.
I used to live near FM 1960 & Kuykhendahl.
Went to N. Harris Co. Community College for a while. Gonna be there for Christmas. I can't wait to get stuck in the Almeda Mall parking lot for 2 1/2 hours again ! (right... )

James (& James) - surely you've both been on the board long enough to know that I don't think homosexuality is a sin and that I don't think the biblical writings are clear on committed, adult homosexual relationships.
