That point is a fine one I'm just sick of us looking like a bunch of yokels in front of the rest of the world. No other country is airing their dirty laundry at these negotiations quite like we have. We really need some strong GOP leadership to pull us out of the puerile nonsense and start really preparing for a strong run. I mean the whole point of that letter is a moot point if the GOP self destructs before it's in a position to do anything about this.

Germany, although they do not have a seat at the table in these negotiations between the Democrats and Iran, wanted to express historic Germanic concerns about the plight of the Jews, the canaries in the coal mine.

The ignorance of the right wingnuts on this board never ceases to amaze me. As I advised smearpro, go educate yourself on P5+1 before commenting.

Man I have absolutely no idea what are you talking about half the time.

Also, here is a nice article that talks about how stupid it was for the GOP to tip their hand here. Because they made their intentions known, the UN Security Council is now looking to make legally binding any resulting resolution here that is going to complicate any attempts to overturn them. That would make it harder for Western Nations to overturn them willy nilly. Fantastic work guys.

Wow, that totally blows the advantage of the 'non binding agreement' the president was out to make:

"...“A non-binding agreement with Iran is easier to make (because the President can clearly do it on his own) and easier to break (because there is no domestic or international legal obstacle to breaking it),” wrote Jack Goldsmith, a former Assistant Attorney General who now teaches law at Harvard, at Lawfare on Wednesday...."
    http://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattve...enators-who-sent-that-letter-to-iran-n1970504

The 'non binding' advantage of it was that it would give us the legal edge to drop the agreement quickly and respond quickly to an Iranian 'breakout' to build a bomb. This eliminates that advantage now.

    Yea, thanks guys.

It is truly unreal. I hope the "joke" was worth the uphill battle they just created for themselves if these talks don't go there way.

What's unreal is the disillusionment I'm having right now with the party I once adhered to. I'm flabbergasted by their shallowness.

And the United states Senate, the people's elected representatives, don't have a vested interest ???

Strange way of looking at it.

I would say Obama is a "wuss" but he has been successful at what he started out to do: Convert America to a third world country with a Marxist government!

Evidently we're pretty good at "regime change".

Nation building afterward? Not so much.

But hey the money is good for a select connected few. That's what really matters. Win lose or draw the select connected few always turn a tidy profit from war.

War, what's it good for? $$$ big profits $$$

No, I meant vested as in $$$ - that is the only reason Germany is even part of the group.

Iran is borrowing for time and it's working.
