I dont know why we all waste our time argueing with each other about these things. Something occurred to me lately.

    EXPECTATIONS DETERMINE OUTCOME.

What do I mean by this? For every chart, graph, scientist or any other supposed proof that a right-winger can produce to show that temperatures are not rising and sea levels are not rising a left -winger can come along and produce his own set of charts, graphs, and scientists to show that it is. The results of the experiment will be determined by the ideology of the scientist.

When it comes to the war in Iraq for every news story showing progress in Iraq there are others touting Bushs' failures. For every retired General telling us what he would have done to bring victory in Iraq there is one in the field telling every one that things are going well. For every congressman and senator who is supporting our president there are cheap political opportunists trying to save their political hide who will put stumbling block after stumbling block in his way. What a politician sees when he/she visits Iraq will be determined by the political ideology they bring along.

The conclusion is that we all will believe what we want to believe when it comes to these two subjects. It is not the evidence that convinces us. It is something else. It is a deep seated ideology or some vision of utopia or pride that will prevent us from honestly looking at the other side

If one really wants to believe that global warming is a reality, no evidence to the contrary will convince him otherwise. If one wants to believe that we are seeing progress in Iraq the left-wing media will have no effect.

    Expectations determine outcome.

Opening post (OP): // Expectations determine outcome.//

The democrats figured if they let Bush get quagmired in Iraq,
they could come to power. So they voted for his war.

I still expect we can win the World's side in Iraq.
But it still isn't two late to snatch defeat from the
    very Jaws of Victory.

Thus voting to put our soldiers in harms way and seeing them die for political gain?

Let me remind you that this little drama is only reality in Ed's head.

BTW, don't you try and pin this war on the democrats, this is Bush's war and it will go down in history as Bush's Blunder.

Recall some earler posts, pechance in other boards.
I was opposed to the present Bush in his first election
(I sure didn't vote Democratic either). But somehow,
probably by the grace of God, he got elected. He proved to
be a good president the first term so I voted for him second
    term.

I didn't think first term we need any dynasty: not Kennedys,
    not Bushes. No more Bushes.

I figured out my Carbon Footprint.
It is about 10% less than the average Brit.

Fox Spoke at the University of Oklahoma (OU) Yesterday,
    the former President of Mexico.
Gore is to speak at the University of Oklahoma (OU)
Thursday, the knee-jerk Green Presidental candidate.

OU's motto takes on a whole new meaning???
