Goats sacrificed to 'fix' airlines plane troubles

Nepal Airlines has acknowledged that it sacrificed two goats to appease a Hindu god following a spate of technical problems with one of its aircraft.
The goats were slaughtered in front of the Boeing 757 at Kathmandu airport.
The persistent faults have not been specified but they had led to the postponement of a number of flights.
An airline official says after the ceremony, the plane successfully took off to Hong Kong.
"The snag in the plane has now been fixed and the aircraft has resumed its flights," said Raju KC, a senior airline official, without explaining what the problem had been.
Local media last week blamed the company's woes on an electrical fault.
It is common in Nepal to sacrifice animals like goats and buffaloes to appease different Hindu deities.

I think I'd prefer Qantas Airlines, myself. Especially considering I like the "no loss of life" history.

Here's a sampling of actual log items on problems reported by pilots and solutions taken by (humorous) maintenance engineers at Qantas, the only major airline that has never had a Class A accident (a mishap that involves loss of life or at least US$1 million in damage).

Problem: Left inside tire almost needs replacement.
Solution: Almost replaced left inside tire.

Problem: Test flight OK, except autoland very rough.
Solution: Autoland not installed on this aircraft.

Problem: Something loose in cockpit.
Solution: Something tightened in cockpit.

Problem: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.
Solution: Evidence removed.

Problem: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.
Solution: That's what they're there for.

Problem: DME volume unbelievably loud.
Solution: DME volume set to more believable level.

Problem: No. 2 propeller seeping prop fluid.
Solution: No. 2 propeller seepage normal. Nos. 1, 3, 4 propellers lack normal seepage.

Problem: Mouse in cockpit.
Solution: Cat installed.

Problem: Something making noise under the cockpit - Sounds like a midget with a hammer.
Solution: Took away the midget's hammer.

Now that's how you run an airline!?!?!? ! :laugh: :laugh:

Reminds me of watching the Voodoo priestess offer animal sacrifices for the New Orleans Saints, inside the stadium before the game, to help them win against the St. Louis Rams a few years ago.

(P = IFF inoperative.)
(S = IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.)

(P = Suspected crack in windshield.)
(S = Suspect you're right.)

(P = Number 3 engine missing.)
(S = Engine found on right wing after brief search.)

(P = Target radar hums.)
(S = Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.)

(And now, a couple of the best ones -)

P: Aircraft handles funny.
S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right, and be serious.
