God is good.

NASB (emphasis mine)
Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Rom 8:29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
Rom 8:30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.

John 15 calls God the vinedresser who prunes us so we bear more fruit and bring Him glory. It is a painful process but it is for my good and His glory and therefore I am thankful for it.

 

I've tried lately just to be more thankful for the smaller things in life. Just simple things that I used to take for granted. Like a night out with my wife grocery shopping, instead of complaining about the crowds or food prices, just enjoy spending time with my wife and being thankful for God's provision.

What am I thankful for? A few off the top pf my head-
- My Dear Wifey, who is perfect in every way.
- A mother who prayed for me.
- A godly grandfather who always had time to mentor me.
- An answered prayer.
- Wisdom when I have needed it.
- A sense of my own mortality gained as a young man, and the appreciation of life it gives.
- The Country in which I live.
