As in Gospell? The rock version of the Gospel? Saw a few minutes on tv and was truly not impressed.

Isn't Dawning of the Age of Aquarius from that? Catchy song from the 60's mindset.

Prefer "Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat" and "Jesus Christ Superstar."

    Bob,

Aquarius was from the musical, "Hair", not "Godspell".

The movie came out when I was still a little too young to appreciate it, but I love the music from it. When I was a kid the church choir I was in did the music from Godspell. I sang the solo on "All Good Gifts (are From God)".

I think I still have the soundtrack around here somewhere.

I saw Godspell last night in live theatre version, high school age.

Actors/singers did well, but the play was... different. Once I got past a few hurdles in the beginning, it was okay.

Day By Day was one of the songs in it.

We're watching it right now on Bravo and my sister is singing "Turn Back, Oh Man" at the top of her lungs. (One more time for the folks on BaptistBoard, Terri!)

It's dated and silly but it's a fun movie.

When I was a kid, waaaayyyyyy back in the Jesus movement days, "Godspell" was my first real introduction to the Gospel and to Jesus' teachings and, even though I didn't become a Christian for another fifteen or twenty years, so much of it stuck with me that I think it's partly responsible for my becoming a Christian.

I saw it in '74 & didn't like it. They showed it to us at a "Youth for Christ" meeting.

I don't think I will watch it again.

I saw Godspell done on stage in High school and in College, and it's truly a wonderful play. I give it three thumbs up.
