Who are you to judge anyone's morality? I find this highly offensive.
    </font>
I don't care what you find highly offensive.

Anyone that makes blanket statements that all liberals lack morals is just being ONE conservative lacking information who has been subjected to much propaganda. Don't be offended FilmProducer...he can't help it.

Joseph, you SHOULD care what you find highly offensive. Or should I feel free to say Mr. Bush prays to Hitler's spirit every Friday the 13th? hmm? [IMG]

It is funny to me that Joseph claims Wallis is nothing but mouth-piece for the far left-wing of the democratic party, yet acts exactly as someone would act if they were a mouth-piece for the far right-wing of the republican party. Mr. Kettle, may I introduce you to Mr. Pot!

For the record Wallis takes both parties to task. One for being all talk and no action and the other for not "allowing" there to be different opinions on the issue of abortion and capital punishment.

"Republicans literally win elections on the basis of their anti-abortion position and then proceed to ignore the issue (and the nation's highest abortion rate in the world) by doing nothing to reduce the number of abortions" Page 299

"The 2000 (Democratic) platform even said that the party recognizes "different views on issues of personal conscience like abortion and capital punishment. We view this diveristy of views as a source of strength, not as signs of weakness". These words were removed from the 2004 platform. Page 300

Wallis advocates for a consistent ethic of life that is against abortion and against capital punishment. Using McVeigh as an example ...

"...some criticized me as too harsh when I said he should be sentenced to a life of solitary confinement and hard labor, that he be allowed no public voice, and that his life should end in obscurity instead of the celebrity he so craved .... To be against capital punishment does not require us to be against punishment for such a heinous crime. It is not only a moral contradiction to kill McViegh for his killings; it was also not punishment enough. Page 304

First thing you know FP will be accusing you of not acting like a Christian if you don't cease saying things he considers "offensive".

Do you mean to imply that abortion and homosexual marriage have nothing to do with human well being? Practiced widely enough and there will be no humans to worry about well being.

I have never understood why Christians want to defame all those people with the surname Gay by referring to homosexuals as gay. [/QB]
That's not what is being said at all. I recommend listening to what people actually and not what you wish to infer.

Read the bok. You will see what is actually being said.

I simply call people what they wish to be called. It really isn't that big of deal. Well, I guess it is a big deal for some!

Look at the profile. It is "she".

Blanket statements are ridiculous and they don't belong in any intelligent discussion. Guess you can't expect more from a right-wing, Christian neocon. [IMG]

    My apologies M'am. [IMG]

I only occasionally read profiles. Maybe I should make it a habit.

I understand some of you guys being excited about this guys book and recommending it to others. Please keep in mind when you are making your recommendation you are asking someone to spend thier money, you are not offering to buy the book for them. So if they are familiar with the author and don't care for that author why would they spend thier money?Even if you were to buy the book and send it to someone the choice of how to spend thier valuble time is still thiers.

I appreciate the book review but, right now, I'm not planning on reading it.

I believe the Bible is God's Word and every bit of it is useful to us.

I thank you for the compliment that I should be a Democrat spokesman. Coming from an ultra conservative paranoid "lunatic" such as yourself...it's music to my ears. But...I wouldn't want the job. I'd have to put up with your whining.

I repeat...you SHOULD care about being offensive.

Let's look at what you wrote again:

    ........and to this you added:

Now this is quite an assessment from someone who admits that he has not read the book.

So how did you arrive at this summary?

Well, you missed the mark, Joseph.

I sure did. I have a copy of it right here.

Don't worry: when your comments here are taken with your "brief summary" it is quite apparent that you have not read the book to anyone that has actually read it.

Perhaps you will read things for yourself and arrive at your own conclusions. That is what I did, back when I was a hard-core right winger like you. It was part of the reason I woke up....

    Regards,
    BiR
