Sometimes something happens & we say "Good grief!" Sometimes I read some of the answers to some of these threads & I think, "Good grief!"

But do we really mean that - should good & grief be coupled together as they are?

(By the way, this is just something to lighten us up a little!)

I love using phrases like that - kind of old fashioned!! But you're right - it's kind of an oxymoron, huh?

    No Holds Barred

(A match in which no holds were barred (disallowed) would permit any and all of the numerous varieties of wrestling locks. The phrase appeared as early as 1952 in the Economist).

If I were around a weaker brother and such a statement bothered him I would refrain from using it, but rest assured that anyone who teaches that those words are sinful is promoting legalism and robing others of their liberty.
    The bible says
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
There is nothing wrong with the words Good grief, but as I said in the case of a weaker brother who was offended I would refrain.

Not sure why you got off on the legalism thing...

This was just a lighthearted thread as you can tell from the other responses.

I like you...you are a thinker like me.

That's like if you are what you eat, since you are a human...wouldn't that make you a cannibal?
