In fact, I don't see any rebuttal in your comment that the Democrats and the Post-Modernists, not to mention the Modernists, have much concern about freedom of conscience.

I can't imagine why a Democrat would want an opposition party except for window dressing. The Democrats have controlled Congress since 1932 even when there has been a Republican President. It is the Democrats who elevated Keynes to the status of demi-god in a pantheon that includes Darwin, Freud, Dewey, and Wellhausen, among others.

As for your historical reference to the so-called Southern Policy, that, too, is invalid because my grandfathers were GOP conservatives long before FDR and we are/were Taft Republicans, although I myself like Ike.

In short, the Dems have dominated for the last eighty years and if the GOP, which came into being in 1854 in Ripon, Wisconsin, ceases then the mantle passes to the Taxed Enough Already Party to solve the economic problems now facing the USA.

 

You as a cheerleader for the socialist movement of the Democratic Party have certainly done your share to see to it that they are the only one standing. I don't buy your crocodile tears, sorry.

The chart does not go back to 1932, the beginning of Democrat dominance in American government. A Republican President only had a Republican Congress twice--for a couple of years under Ike and for perhaps four years under G.W. Bush. Other than that Democrats have controlled at least one house of Congress and now they control the Senate and the White House. The GOP has been in eclipse for the last 80 years. Under FDR, there was total Democrat control. Often the people have voted for gridlock.

 

Rush didn't say he wanted America to fail. He said he wanted Obama to fail and I agree with him in the same sense that, if a bear were mauling my child to death, I would want the bear to fail.

It's amazing to me how low the 'Publican Party has fallen. They are engaging in economic terrorism and governing by temper tantrum. I think this may be the point where the GOP jumps the shark and ceases to be a major political factor. If the Repukes succeed in shutting down the government and causing a default on our debt, it will have major fiscal ramifications.

Let's break it down to what it really is. We have a Democratic Senate and President and a Republican House. The Republicans like to claim to have a mandate, but that is an outright lie. Democratic House candidates got over a million more votes than the 'Publicans. The only reason the GOP controls the House is because of gerrymandering. Further, if John Boehner would allow a fair up-or-down vote on the clean continuing resolution it would pass. The reason he doesn't is because of the Teabaggers. We have a Teabagger minority of one house of Congress holding a gun to the head of the American people. The GOP list of demands grows larger and larger and I commend the President and Democrats for standing up to them.

As bad as this is, it is only one example of the shortcomings in both major parties. I believe the only real solution will be the rise of a third party to clean up the mess.

Didn't a scandal called "Whitewater", like, come pretty close to making him and his wife bankrupt, not too long ago ?
