Sorry kids. Gotta go to work. Have fun with your asterisk words.

Maybe there will be an actual answer to my question when I get back in the morning.

Why don't you back up your false assertions with evidence, or are you too much of a coward to do that? Of course, the truth is you're deliberately making false statements to discredit me. Just remember, one day you're going to answer to God for all your falsehoods.

I agree. Families with children have traditionally involved their children in some way in the chores associated with family business, and the govt is doing more harm than good in restricting those helpful traditions. Congress may have good intentions occasionally, but they too often lack the good sense to go with them.

He's right. Our prisons are full of them.

A strong case can also be made that child labor laws are so restrictive that it's illegal to hire many teenagers, who might work and help their families financially,if they could.

What is your problem! I haven't denied anything.

Do you just like to fight and argue? If so, let me know and I will call you and let you vent your frustration in my ear.

You have got to be one of the most miserable persons I have had the displeasure of seeing here. Between you, Carpro and Targus, you all could give Larry, Moe and Curley a run for their money. :tongue3:

I don't agree about child labor laws being restrictive in regards to teenagers. What particular law did you have in question?

First - child labor laws would be different in each State or Commonwealth. Many may be similar but I'm sure there are several differences.

Second, it appears you did not read the links in post # 15 :type:

The link was for NY labor laws not federal labor laws. I would assume that no one would be expected to know every labor laws of every state. If the context is not based on federal labor laws then it becomes a tangled mess as each would be speaking respectively of their own state.
    So I would say again in regards to teenagers;

I don't agree about child labor laws being restrictive in regards to teenagers. What particular law did you have in question?

First of all, I am not aware of any federal laws - as that would be a State or Commonwealth Issue.

Second, you don't need to know the laws of every State - just the State you hire teens in. Since you live in Texas, here is the law for the Lone Star
As was mentioned before there are several resections esp for 14 & 15 year olds, that very few or if any companies would hire them.

I would assume you have never been an employer.

I would assume you do not know how to Google. it is a relative simple thing and if interested let me know and I will do a step by step process with you for free if you like. Here is a link on federal labor laws.

Although you are incorrect and there are some restrictions you make my point. There are few labor laws to restrict teens in working. Now it is true some states may have some but that is a different matter unless this is restricted to a particular state and hopefully not NY as that state is the pits.

No, Robert. You are wrong. I don't like blanket charges of racism. I asked for someone to back up a slanderous statement, and the libby trolls take offence.

Perhaps you shouldn't concentrate so much on me. You should hold C.T.Boy to the same standards you hold me.

And you never answered my question. You do that a lot. I guess you don't like to talk facts, you would rather hurl insults.

That's why you get so angry at me. Your obsession with insulting me when I challenge people is a joke.

And funny how I can disagree with carpro, targus, and they don't turn into little girls, like you, C.T.Boy and justalachristiantide.

You're the exception that proves the rule. But the issue is legislation that prevents individuals from doing what you did, and it's effect on their character. He's exactly right, but, again, a true statesman would have said it in a way in which the socialists would look foolish to rebut it.

In WA I think teenagers are restricted from operating some sorts of machinery.
