Actually, my friend, it is the GOP. Here is a headline from Fox News:

So, my friend you see it is the GOP who now cares nothing about the good nutrition of kids. Profits, profits, profits for the corporations at the expense of health of our kids. Shameful

But if any Obama wants good nutrition then the party of "NO" has to be against it. Shameful!

I will accept an apology for your quick and very wrong reaction.
    [/QUOTE]

Profits for the corporations? Not only are you stealing Poncho's lines, you're not doing it well.

The schools are losing money, and having to pull from education budgets to meet the USDA standards. This is a classic example of this administration not understanding the basic rule of economics: Making an economic decision for one area without consideration for the long-term and the whole, often results in negative repercussions in other areas. The addition of regulations necessarily increases the costs in the area regulated; and when such regulation occurs outside of annual fiscal/budget cycles, other areas must be robbed to pay for the additional costs that weren't in the budget considerations.

The students are creating "black markets" to satisfy demand; and while that's a negative comment on the success of the "healthy eating" program, it does speak volumes about our natural-born capitalistic nature....

A friend of mine is a nutritionist for a school district and has to design the lunch menus for all of the schools under the new guidelines. I remember her going through trying to figure out how to meet the requirements with food that the children would actually eat. We talked a lot about her struggles and how to get the kids to eat the healthy foods when they aren't made to eat this stuff at home. Honestly, we couldn't come up with a solution but she had to. She ended up with a pretty good lunch program - with many foods that children just won't be eating.

Momma would send me off to school with a thermos full of soup and a PBJ. I was a full contact sort of kid so the thermos would last for the first week. Any one else recall the sound of broken glass coming from the inside of a Ponderosa Thermos bottle? :wavey:

With the thermos out of the way I would get two PBJs, celery or carrots and an apple or orange. 180 days a year I had PBJ for lunch. I did not die, starve or contract scurvy. From what I've read, a school has the authority to confiscate a student's lunch if it does not meet nutrition guidelines. Balderdash I say! My PBJs would have been safe. Little Joe was on the lid with a balled fist and a menacing look in his eye.

On a second thought, I probably would not be allowed to take my Ponderosa lunch box to school. Hoss had a rifle in his hand. :tonofbricks:

IMHO - the Federal Govt has no constitutional Authority to REQUIRE minimum nutrition standards. Recommended - acceptable.

what is the next step - Food police standing guard at fast food joints, coming into your home with, then w/o warrants to approve your eating habits?

For years, kids have brought PB & J to school. Has it ever done damage to anyone - (I know Padre is the execption)

    Why, why, why?

Why insist on feeding the commies?

Really? The school and I would do battle over that one. This is not communist America.

Unfortunately, because of allergies, PBJs are no longer allowed in many schools. I agree that it's not that hard to make a healthy, inexpensive lunch from home but I guess either parents are lazy, don't know how to provide healthy meals or their kids rule the roost. I'm not sure which it is. My kids were allowed to buy 4 school lunches a month and that's it - otherwise it came from home. :)

I would suppose that it is just as right to claim the GOP is waging war against kids and fruits and vegetables as it is to claim that Obama is waging war against the rich, religion or that he is waging class warfare.

And your supposition would be wrong. The GOP appears to be trying to ease the cost of feeding students. The dems see no problem with taking money from other education programs to deal with the expense of getting rid of rotting food.

But you didn't address a single fact, just made a sweeping statement.

Of course it would be wrong to folks mired in partisan politics. In partisan politics, anything that one side says about the other is deemed wrong.

If it can be said that Obama is waging war against the things mentioned in my previous post, then there shouldn't be any problem with CTB saying that the GOP is waging war against something.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

    There's a real war going on.

I didn't address what didn't need to be addressed.

Except I demonstrated how it is NOT the GOP in several posts. Maybe you could address those posts, in particular, instead of a cowardly, vague, immature, "I'm better than you" post.

    Then again, maybe you couldn't.

You're for the GOP. You're expected to attempt to demonstrate THAT just as the Dems would present ways that President Obama was not waging war on religion, the rich and class.

You giving examples of why you think it to not be the case ain't any different from the Dems giving examples of why they think it's not the case with President Obama.

What's immature is you thinking, once again, because of your partisan politics that you've got the market on truth cornered. Facts aren't necessarily the absolute truth.

I don't care that the President is Black anymore than I cared that the 43 before him were White. I guess the skin color of the current President presents a problem for the man from New Mexico. Get you some rose colored glasses and perhaps it will make President Obama's skin look white enough for ya.

Grossly mistaken. You have no idea what you are talking about.

I simply put up how kids are not eating Mooch's mandated lunches. The rest is your own fantasy.

    Facts aren't truth ?

    :thumbsup:Correct:

Zaac has two basic purposes with all of his posts:

1.) To guide slowly towards communism <---this is secondary to his purposes.
2.) To ensure that sodomy becomes acceptable within God's Churches. <----his only obsession in life.

When all of his posts are understood in that light everything he says makes sense. He even screamingly and passionately preaches against any and EVERY sin he can think of....full of vituperation, condemnation and righteous indignation against EVERY conceivable form of wrong-doing.....

    Unless it's sodomy...

His goal is to convince you that they are co-equal and that he roundly and un-equivocally opposes sin...He doesn't.

He wants sodomy acceptable in the Church. All of his posts are geared towards that ultimate end. It's his only concern.

I disagree with your assessment of his goals.

Hyper self-piety is his problem. That and a desire to have Crabtownboy defended.

Let's own this statement shall we???

I want to hear this again:
    Did we understand that folks???

    Yes we did...
Just so it sinks in, let's hear this from Zaac, yet one more time:
Wow!!!...how do you even graduate from high-school if you are capable of making a statement like this?

    I know teacher.... :wavey:
    I know... :wavey:

You push Sodomy as acceptable within the Church, and even statements like that are forgiven.
