Here's an article that was on yesterday's front page of The Washington Post:
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/02/24/AR2006022401799.html

As far as its influence goes, it doesn't matter if some "nutcase" wrote it or even if it was written later than the real gospels -- there are plenty of people who believe that the Gnostics had the real truth and that Christians suppressed it. This will just feed into that.

Ever heard of Elaine Pagels? She has lots of books out and is recognized as a scholar on the Gnostic gospels. She even wrote a book on the origins of Satan. Along with the Gospel of Thomas, the Gospel of Judas will probably become a favorite of a lot of people.

Gnosticism lives on in the New Age, in some Mormon views, in a lot of Eastern views, and is here to stay, until Christ returns. The popularity of the Da Vinci Code book shows that.

I find it interesting that as the Da Vinci Code movie is about to come out, this Gospel of Judas is getting its "unveiling."
