Does your church have one? I have been in churches that had stockpiles of tracts to take, others that had a more limited section, and yet others that did not use tracts. Since Way of the Master, Gospel Tract Planet, One Million Tracts, and other tract ministries sell lots of tracts, churches are obviously buying them. Someone at Living Waters told me they sell over a million tracts a month so they are being used in both Calvinist and Arminian churches. Many IFB churches use Chic Cartoon tracts which is another popular tract ministry.

Regardless of the opinion of them from many on this board, do realize that there are many that disagree with you. So tell me about your experience in churches and of those that had lots of tracts to take.

No, my church does not. Instead we lean more towards discipleship and teaching our members how to evangelize.

Well, my church is neither Calvinist nor Arminian, but we do have a tract wall. I don't see a lot of people taking them. We used to have a very few Chick tracts, but thank the Lord we don't order those anymore.

At our Fall Festival - which takes the place of Halloween night - [which I think is rather silly, but they ask me to face paint every years so I do] - I was once given a set of Chick tracts about the devil and Halloween and was asked to give them to the children as I face painted.

I refused and pitched them in the trash.

I have used a couple of the different tracts from the wall myself, but not often.

Currently looking for a church since we moved, but my old church did have a tract table but the emphasis was on talking to people and making Disciples like we are commanded not handing out a piece of paper and patting ourselves on the back that we did our evangelistic duty for the day.
It was a reformed Baptist Church.

I am so tired of you people with your condescending attitudes towards tracts, and I don't want to hear about Evan's attitude towards those who don't either, i know that attitude is not right either.

People get saved from Gospel tracts, and God promises his word is quick and powerful and will not return to him void.

You create a straw man, as if people who hand out tracts don't attempt to make disciples and talk to people.

I'd have you know I hand out tracts AND talk to people. it isn't an either or situation.

I'm not the one who made it an either or option.

What I meant was I don't want to hear people trashing Evan's attitude towards people who don't hand out tracts.

Also what is with you and blessedwifes signature?

Do you get some kind of pleasure from instigating Evan and egging him on? That's really sad behavior for someone claiming the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Well for me I learned back in high school that the best thing to do with an insult is to treat it like a complement. That and I have a twisted sense of humor, and there is the added bonus that rabbits were a huge part of my husband and my courtships so it has a sentimental value for me.

You refer to the attitude that those who do not use tracts are not obeying the Great Commission?

You should ask Evan about Rabbits. They are his way of telling off those who offer advice (usually asked for) or opinions that he disagrees with. He has issued so many that it has become Baptist Board's own running joke. They are difficult to miss.

Noted, but disagree. Any criticism from me is believed to be deserved at the time posted.

Evan is responsible for his own posts- for the good, the absurd, and for his comments about others' reaction to them.
