So all his problems are the fault of Fox News? He's done nothing wrong, it's just that FNC is such a powerful force in the media that his popularity numbers have dropped over 30 points since he took office, even among liberals? Do liberals even watch FNC?

What a load of horse hockey!

This is a good example of Fox News and their habit of reporting via innuendo.

Here is the exact quote by Obama:
"I think regardless of whether it’s fair or not, it has made Fox News very successful,”

Here is how Fox News spun the quote:
President Obama [..] suggested the network has profited by unfairly covering such stories as the Benghazi terror attacks and the IRS targeting of conservative groups.

Obama never used the word profit. Fox News interprets his quote for him by stating he "suggested the network has profited."

Does success = profit? Not necessarily. Success in the TV news business means higher ratings, which means more viewers, which means the network could charge more for commercial spots. BUT, we don't know what kind of expenses Fox News has so we don't know for sure that they profited more by carrying these stories.

ALL his problems? No, Obama said that he was having problems with the Benghazi and IRS scandals because he felt Fox News was giving undue coverage to these stories.

Fox news got it right. Your nitpicking does not change facts.

Fox news probably got it right. Just because they sell commercial time doesn't mean they are profitable.

Your criticism is unfounded especially in light of the fact that they did include the full quote as Obama said it. You are reaching again.

I see...so it's perfectly acceptable for a news agency to change the words a person used and misrepresent it as a quote so long as they put the actual quote somewhere later on in the article?
I'll keep that in mind when I quote you on BB.

No, however you are now doing the very thing you are accusing Fox of. I said none of that.

It is not a stretch to suggest that success equals profits since that is their main business. Your suggestion otherwise is off base and really kind of weird.

    I'm just sayin

What is happening is that Fox News is putting words in the President's mouth. "The President suggested... is simply shoddy reporting.

That's not "spin." That's what he said. His is the spin. Fox took the lipstick off the pig.
The phrase " ... whether it's fair or not ... " implies there is a question of it's fairness, and there is not. Juxtaposing that with the phrase " ... very successful ... " further implies that Fox's "potential unfairness" -- the concept the whining Great Pretender successfully planted in listeners' and readers' minds with those two cleverly married expressions -- is profiting them, and therefore suggests that the profit is also unfair. Learn the tactics of politicians and you'll soon realize none of them ever really says anything, but let you think they did.
I'm not sure what you're point is here. Why are you arguing FNC may or may not be profitable? That isn't the issue. The "president" accused them of being unfair, not unprofitable.
Which is ridiculous, given his own party in the Senate was unable to come out with a whitewash of the Benghazi scandal, laying blame at the feet of both te White House and State.

I'm well aware of it. Politicians are the masters of question begging and building strawmen.

Read the thread title. Read the first sentence of the news article.

    I have.

    I posted the thread.

Note, "unfair to me" is the first subject mentioned in my thread title, and the first issue G/P raises with O'Reilly.
