    It is a Virtual Private Network and it allows you to log on somehwere else.
    It is mainly used to access office networks from remote locations such as home or while traveling.
    WHen you browse the internet though, it appears as if you are at the office, not the actual location.
    In that way, if you connected to a US vpn server, you could probably connect to US only sites.
    I have not tried this since I have never been online when I have been outside the US so I am not sure.

    I just tried it and went to whatismyip.com

    Without the VPN connection I got:
    69.212.xxx.xx
    With the VPN I got:
    216.54.xxx.xxx

    It SHOULD work but I can't try without going to Ireland :)

    Might be a little slow, but it should fool the IP location scheme I would think.

    Well, you have to have a VPN network to connect to.
    I am not sure what to tell you about that since I can't give out the info for the VPN access I have with a company I work with.
    Maybe you can google it and see if there are companies that allow you to log in for things like that.
    Would be great for MLB.com too :)
