    Yes, its like supporting the old Chelsea team when we used to beat the Man Utd and then get beat by the lesser teams. A 3-0 drubbing by Iceland was almost to be expected, but the win against Spain was a real lift! So how did the Republic of Ireland fare against the Germans? Ouch!!:laugh:

    Ireland only need a few things to be succesful.

    1) A new manager (again)
    2) A 2-3 quality defenders
    3) One more striker
    4) A couple of quality mid-fielders

    BTW, I was over the moon with the NI win!!

    I am always glad to see the Republic do well. The glory days of Jack Charlton are long gone. Still, we Northerner's have to hearken all the way back to the World Cup of 1982 to have anything to crow about.
