    Taking off from an existing thread, I'd like to poll the group on what you think is the single greatest factor working against Christ's church and the Christian faith.

    I heard the late, great Dr. Adrian Rogers say something like

    "The greatest testamony for Christ and the worst testamony against Christ lies in the life of the Believer."

    Just because one is the greatest enemy doesn't mean the other ones aren't valid, BTW. I simply picked the one that I thought was the "greatest" enemy.

    I include Judaistic legalizers under Fundamentalists. Notice that I'm not talking just about Moslem Fundamentalists but all Hyper-Fundamentalists.

    As for Catholics and liberal theologians maybe we should start another poll and include them as well.

    I included the issues that we brought up in the previous poll.

    I would include that modern day church that has replaced the New Testament patterns in church practice with a marketing and entertainment driven religion, by doing so have become more of a religious country club than the Biblical Ekklesia that God intended.

    I had forgotten about Rome. The world, almost literally, sees Roman Catholicism as synonymous with Christianity. We have been fighting that for what, about 1700 years??? What they have done to the name of Christ they will have to answer for, but how many millions have they led astray?

    I chose item 2, believers living as unbelievers, but that's the greatest enemy in the list, but I believe the greatest enemy to the Christian faith is Judaism.

    Millions of Christians believe in two covenants, one for the Gentiles and one for the Jews. They, therefore, believe in two means of salvation. One through faith in Christ and the other by lineage.

    Is there any other nation who collectively asserts that Christ was a lying, bastard son of Mary, that millions of Christians assert to be the "apple of God's eye?" In every way Judaism is the enemy of Christian faith, yet it is esteemed by many to be the special beneficiaries of the blessings of God.

    A very dangerous enemy indeed.

    There is one faith in one Lord (Hebrews 11).
    People without faith are the enemy of God.
