Yes it is. While I hate to see anyone injured, I'd say it's about par for the course.

I am not sure what is meant here by "par for the course. It is for me a good reason not to attend a gun show. It would appear there are people there handling guns who have no idea what they are doing.

I agree people who have no idea what they are doing shouldn't be handling guns.

Probably be a good idea to stay away from state legislatures too. Especially when democrats are handling the guns.

First rule of gun safety. Treat every firearm as if it is loaded.

Now that was an honest mistake Cheney thought lawyer season was open at the time.

Every boat show I've been to, someone has fallen in the water.

Time to outlaw boats - or water!

Hmmm... I wonder if a person pulled the trigger or if the guns chose their own victims and fired themselves????

I also think it's ironic when peace loving hippie kids get trampled to death at rock concerts. Sometimes they die by the hundreds. It's very ironic.

    It's Only Ironic....

....if you want it to be.

Go to a car show, and there are accidents. Go to the fair or carnival, and there are fights, drunks, and accidents. Go to Disneyland and almost assuredly people will experience robberies of personal property, and someone will be arrested, for some reason, or another. Tomorrow, at the Inauguration there will be incidents, that could be seen as "ironic or even par for the course."

Throughout the course of the "Occupy Movement" last year, there were fights, deaths, riots, and rapes!

Go to a Oakland Raiders game and for sure a number of fights will break out.

And just the other day, I read a story about a local golfer who shot, "Par for the course!"

So, what have those who claim the gun show accidents were "ironic" or "par for course" hoping to prove?

Maybe they can come up with another way to say, "I told you so? Guns are dangerous, and should be banned!"

What I found interesting in yesterdays national activites to celebrate the right to gun ownership was that no mass shootings took place. Now that is newsworthy, in a newsworthy way. :wavey:

I feel you are a bit off topic here. People do not go to gun shows, carnivals, etc. because they believe that by going to these shows they will end up being safer. The irony is that these five people, whom I am very sorry were harmed, were most likely there in the hope that by buying a weapon they would be safer.

 Now that is funny. Poor Par, I never knew him well.

Okay I admit it. I'm still kind of fuzzy on the whole irony thing. What is irony?

    Is this ironic?

“We no longer accept ads showing semiautomatic weapons and guns pointed at people,” Time Warner Cable said in a statement. “We stand by this policy. If it’s essential to a business owner to show this kind of imagery in their commercials, there are other advertising options in the marketplace.”

However, this new found conscience on reducing violent gun imagery will not be embraced by movie productions funded by Time Warner itself and distributed by Warner Bros., such as the upcoming Sylvester Stallone film Bullet to the Head, the trailer for which features a plethora of gun violence, with the poster for the movie being riddled with illustrative bullet holes.

    CONTINUE . . .

The sad reality is that accidents happen.

There are many gun shows around the country every year. Millions of people attend them. The number that have accidental shootings at them is really very low. Steps are taken to keep people safe. I usually attend two gun shows a year. There are not many places that I feel safer.
