    I own a copy and read it about 6 years ago. What McGoldrick does is address the claims that are made by Baptist successionists about the groups mentioned in The Trail of Blood . He uses primary source documentation, where available, to compare the teachings and practices of each group with what is considered proper teachings and practices in modern successionist churches.

    He focuses 90% of the book on the historical arguments put forth by successionists and only gives a small discussion of the theological issues. It is almost as though he had an idea for a second book on the topic.
