    No soldier entangles themselves with the affairs of this life, so that they may please Him who has chosen them (2Tim 2:4); If Jesus has asked you to come and follow Him, would you say yes, but first let me go and bury my father? (or the pre-occupations of this life) (Lk 9:59) Then Jesus says to you, “Let the (spiritually) dead bury the dead, but go and preach the kingdom of God.” (Lk 9:60); So you might say, well I don’t have anyone to bury, but can I at least say goodbye to my family before I follow Jesus? Jesus says, No one who puts their hand to the plough and turns back, is fit for the kingdom of God. (9:61-62) Will you end up forsaking Jesus because you love the things of this world more than Him? If so, then you can not be profitable for the ministry. (2Tim 4:10-11)

    Remember the parable of the sower? Those who are on the thorny ground can receive the word with joy, however the cares, riches and pleasures of this life CHOKE out the word and they cannot bring forth fruit to perfection (Lk 8:14); And we should know that those who do not LEARN HOW to lay the foundation of repentance from their dead works (old sinful nature) cannot have the true faith towards God and therefore go on to perfection, because they don’t have God’s permission. (Heb 6:1 & 3); Perfection is the ability to love (Col 3:14); And without the ability to love the Lord AND the saints, we cannot communicate the faith and acknowledge this good thing because it (love) is not in us. (Phl (1:5-6) Do you have a strong desire to be rich in this world? Then God promises that you will fall into many temptations, and hurtful lusts that will cause you to end up being destroyed, for it is the love of money that is evil, and those who seek after money (more than the things of God) will be in error against the faith (of God’s elect see Titus 1:1) AND will pierce themselves through with MANY sorrows (1Tim 6:9-10); Rather, let us ASK of God to help us follow after the faith within righteousness, and patience so that we could love. (1Tim 6:11) For those who are called in the Lord will become servants of God, rather than servants to men, because these have been bought with a price. (1Cor 7:22-23) Has God allowed you to be put in trust with the gospel? Then you are no longer a man/woman pleaser, because God continues to try your heart so that you are not using your words to flatter others because you have God as your witness (1Thess 2:4-5);

    So let us ask of God to help us labor with Him so that we might be accepted of Him, (rather then us accepting Him) for we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ to receive those things that we have done, whether good or bad. Therefore knowing the terror of the Lord, we persuade others because we are well known by God, and we are also made manifest in others consciences. (2Cor 5:9-11) This is the truth which sets us free, (from sin and error) so that we would no longer be servants of sin (and error) (Jn 8:32, 34, Rom 6:20); but made free from sin, through our crucifixion with Christ so that it is no longer us that live, but Christ in us, and the life we now live is by the faith OF the Son of God who gave Himself for us so that we would not frustrate the grace of God ( Rom 6:18, 22, Gal 2:20-21); This is why we need to come from (our) faith to (Christ’s) faith (Rom 1:17); Christ needs to make us free, so that we can go on to wait through the power of the Spirit, to become righteous and loving by faith (Gal 5:1, 5-6); And go on to have the liberty to serve others in love. (5:13)

    Do you have a servant of Christ in your life who is fervently praying that you would stand perfect, and complete in all the will of God? Then you can become a fellow worker (or soldier) for the kingdom of God, and be comforted. (Col 4:12-11) Let us ask of God to help us endure the hardships so that we can be a good soldier of Jesus Christ (2Tim 2:3); Because we know that true soldiers of Jesus, DO VIOLENCE TO NO ONE . (Lk 3:14) Therefore, those that ARE Christ’s HAVE crucified their lusts and affections of the flesh (Gal 5:24); Those who are walking according to this rule, will have peace upon them, and mercy from God because it’s not about “outward traditions”, it’s all about being a NEW creature (Gal 6:16-15); because those that ARE new have learned HOW their old sinful nature is put off. (Eph 4:21-22, Col 3:5-9)

    HP: Think of it. Someone ‘laboring fervently in prayer’ for another that they may stand ‘perfect and complete in ALL the will of God.” What a high calling on the part of the one doing the laboring, and what a manifold measure of grace bestowed upon the one being fervently prayed for! Oh Lord, help me to be one of those counted worthy to have such a calling, May we each one also be found to be the happy recipient of such love and grace bestowed upon us as a result of another’s fervent laboring in prayer.

    Thanks for sharing Ztheberean.

    ‘The fervent effectual prayer of a righteous man availeth much!’
