I am in full agreement with you. Prefer not to talk about it though for the same reasons.

No, impossible.

I appreciate this response and resound with much of it.

My experiences with demon possession have been, mostly, in third world counties. However, I have encountered three people in the US who were demon possessed. All were unbelievers.

As for the exorcism, it was in the African sub-continent and a rather startling experience. Without divulging too much detail, while on a short term mission we were brought to a village where a demon possessed boy was under protective custody. The Christian pastor asked me, I'm a minister, and three other lay people in our group to aid in prayer and fasting for the exorcism. It was a difficult time, but a revealing time. To God be the glory the boy was released from his demon, who had a name and visage within the boy, and soon thereafter became a Christian.

Too many times I am challenged about demon possession, often by people who have never travelled extensively nor involved themselves in ministries where the enemy has had free reign. Almost everyone who has challenged my position has only been in ministry in a protective church environment where they work with people just like them.

Satan is real and his demons are as well. We rebuke him and them in the name of Christ. We have victory in the name of Christ.

Jonny B. @ Gary, IN 1997.
After 25 years of diagnosed multiple personality disorder, was delivered .
He had been a deacon in a Charismatic church, and became possessed in his initial "speaking in toungues" seance.
His daughter, now an adult, was institutionalized in an Indiana State Mental Hospital.

He read the Bible every day, yet was unredeemed, undelivered, possessed.

He received his deliverence, an experience so crazy, it seems like a made up story.

His daughter was allowed to come home, and we ministered to her as well.
He began to visit the State hospital on weekends, going person to person, sharing the Gospel of Grace thru Faith plus nothing, and eternal life.

After several months, He was assembled with us on a Wed.Even. for Bible Study and prayer.
He testified to us that he had shared with the administrators that they could let the inmates go off of their drugs, and go home, when they receive the Gospel.
That Jesus was actually the answer, and he was living proof.
I will never forget this statement:
"For some reason, I dont think they like me".

This was the first and second of many.

I witnessed all of this first hand.

Jesus proved this interpretation wrong when he told us angels do not marry.

In what context did Jesus say that?
He was saying that to the Sadducees in answer to a particular hypothetical question.
He was saying that about the angels in heaven, and we both know that our marriages will not continue on into heaven.
But these are not "angels" as the angels in heaven. They are demonic spirits.
Angels would not inhabit the bodies of pigs and cause them to rush down a cliff; but demons did.

I always thought demons WERE angels. Created beings who fell and were let loose on the Earth. I do not interpret them to be spirits, nor do I believe angels and demons even Have spirits.

Angels, whether in heaven or otherwise, are spirits, and of the spirit-world. They do not have bodies (normally).

The word "angelos" simply means "messenger." These are God's messengers. They are spirit beings, unless God allows them to take on bodies for a specific purpose such as when God himself and two angels visited Abraham, and then the two angels proceeded to go and visit Lot in Sodom. Such events are highly unusual. Otherwise they remain spirits.

The writer of the Book of Hebrews speaking of the angels said:
Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
--One of the reasons angels were created was to minister to God's children. Here it says clearly that they are spirits. Spirits don't marry.

Basically the Sadducees had asked a foolish question, and Jesus answered them rather sarcastically. In plain English it would be "Don't you know (dummies)..." He wouldn't say that but just to ask a question like "whose shall she be in the resurrection shows that they were not thinking things through.
There will be no marriage in heaven. Not for us; not for angels--ever!

As we know now, the only marriage that there will be is the marriage of the bride of Christ to her groom, the Lord himself.

Revelation 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
--What happened here?
"Dragon" is another name for Satan, and Satan is a spirit. The stars in this passage are also angels that followed Satan. In his rebellion against God Satan took one third of all the angels with him. (spirits)

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

We don't wrestle against flesh and blood, but against what? spirits!
--Principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this works, spiritual wickedness in high places.
Satan is a spirit.
He is the god (spirit) of this world (2Cor.4:4)
"the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience."

Excellent explanation ....

Paul hits it out of the park calling our war not against flesh and blood, but supernatural beings. As you clearly point out there is a spirit world, and those evil spirits are more than capable to possess humans.

Anyone not believing should read and not forget your words. Thanks for a great study on the subject.

Even if I conceded all of that, and thanx, BTW for the post, we still have at least 500 years between the flood, and the time of Christ, where demon possession does not seem to be a problem.

I stand on demon possession was for Christ's time, to show his miracles. I see no reason to worry about demon possession.

Well, I certainly respect your position. But, believe it or not, they do still happen and I do not see how these detract from Christ's glory, except of course when people think it takes a certain established religion and their appointed exorcists to battle them, as TV shows and Hollywood would have the naive believe.
