Snakes aside, spiders are also a problem. My grandfather had indoor plumbing, but he kept the old outhouse just in case, and you always had to check for spiders.

The neighbor back home built a nice kitchen and bathroom and installed a concrete storm cellar, but he also kept his outhouse, which he preferred to the indoor bathroom. I think it was his peaceful place.

Honestly, to a camper, everything else pales in comparison to the quality of the bathrooms. When you find a camping site that has great scenery AND good bathrooms, you've struck gold.

I do hope this does not shock any of you, but having read some of the earlier posts by the ladies I really feel I must make a confession.

Given a choice between the Ladies or Gents rest rooms, as you call them, I use the Gents every time. I hope this does not affect our fellowship together(lol)

    yours, Jon.

Why do they lock gas station bathrooms? Are they afraid someone is going to clean them?

When I went to south america, we had walked for about 3 miles, I had to go so bad. I got in there and saw about $1500.00 worth of tile surrounding a hole!!!!
Then in Argentina I went to a bus station to use the bathroom, I walked in and saw a very long deep sink (about 8 ft). There were 4 faucets, spaced about 1 1/2 ft apart, with about 12 inches of garden hose connected to each faucet.
Needless to say, I no longer had to go!!!
