Saggy, are you padding your post total by asking all these 2-second questions?

Or just spending too much time with the VCR?

Either way, I'm always happy to answer! I count this as one of my FAVORITES. And cry my eyeballs out in the final scene at the Hall of Fame reunion.

Well developed story line and really draws you into the plot line.

I will admit I'm a little insecure around those talented women. Not a fan of Rosie or Madonna, and Gena is twice the man I'll ever be . . .

I thought the reunion was the weakest part of the movie, an unnecessarily long addendum (much like the memorial scene in "Shindler's List.")

Gena is great. Everyone is great. But Gena throws the game for her sister. What is that? There's no sister solidarity in baseball!

But I like it anyway. Full of great characters and acting. I like "It Happens Every Spring," even though the whole movie is based on bald-faced cheating ...

    There's no crying in Baseball!!!

I loved the movie so much, I've got it on DVD.

Call me a sap, but I still shed a tear at the end of the movie during the reunion scene.

I'm curious to find out what parts of the film are factual.

There is some language... not much, but some, and there is the locker room underwear scenes that I enjoy enough to know its wrong. ;)

John, here's an analysis of the movie from the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League site, which says it's fictional, but has a strong air of authenticity:

There are some other good pages on the site.

For a long time, I wouldn't watch this movie because of my dislike for Madonna. But I happened across it on tv once and was addicted.

I watched it through several times and fell in love with it. This one and and that other baseball movie with Costner in it-for the sake of the game... Had to cry.

Lets see...I don't like chick-flicks...I couldn't care less about baseball...And I hate Madonna (ok, I should rephrase that, I hate just about everything she has ever done)...

So of course my reaction to this "movie" is...I watch it every time it comes on the idiot box...ARGH!  :( WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO!! :( :(

I do agree with the comments that it did not need the reunion/hall of fame scene.

I really enjoy this movie, and watch it just about every time it comes on telly. The reunion stuff is schmaltzy, and either should have been done better, or just completely done away with.

And it's just come to my attention that Kevin Costner has done far too many baseball movies for a grown man.

I like almost all baseball movies. This one included. The funniest part of the whole movie is the scout. He gets me laughing out loud every time I see it.

Get these wild amimals away from me!!! Haven't you heard of a leash??

    That just cracks me up.
