HCSB Gen. 16:12 a "wild ass" verse?

    If I remember correctly, I remember my father talking about his early days on a farm. Isn't an "ass" as in "j. ass" a mixture of a donkey and a mule that cannot reproduce? If so, this may truly be the only real legitimate translation.

    No, a "mule" is a cross between a donkey and a horse, and it is sterile.

    Jack is a male donkey. A female, incidentally, is a jenny.
