I have repeatedly said that I appreciate the HCSB . It is a very good Bible version . I like the TNIV even better . I will just cite some comparisons where the wording seemed a bit different between the two . Every example does not "prove" that the TNIV is superior . These are two versions I really like . It is just time to look at some phrases side-by-side . I will cite info from the NET Bible at times : Heb._____ The HCSB will be at the top and the TNIV will be below . 1:6__ no spot is uninjured there is no soundness Heb. = there is not in it health 3:12 __ they confuse the direction of your paths they turn you from the path Heb. = and the way of your paths they confuse 6:10 __ Dull the minds of the people Make the heart of this people calloused 8:10 __ Make a prediction ; it will not happen propose your plan , but it will not stand Heb. = speak a word , but it will not stand 8:12 __ Do not call everything an alliance these people say is an alliance Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy Heb.= Do not say , ' Conspiracy,' with respect to all which these people say,' Conspiracy' . 10:2 __ to keep the poor from getting a fair trial ... so that widows can be their spoil to deprive the poor of their rights ... making widows their prey 10:13 __ I subjugated the inhabitants I subdued their kings Heb. = and I brought down , like a strong one , ones sitting ... [ the NET note went on to say that this refers to those who sit on thrones . 10:16 __ will inflict an emaciating disease on the well-fed of Assyria will send a wasting disease upon his sturdy warriors ; Heb. will send leanness against his healthy ones . 13:11 __ humiliate the insolence of tryants humble the pride of the ruthless 16:4 __ marauders have vanished from the land the aggressor wll vanish from the land 17:13 __ like the raging of many waters like the roar of surging waters 21:13 __ in the scrublands of the desert in the thickets of Arabia 23:9 __ to desecrate all its glorious beauty to bring down her pride in all her splendor Heb.= the pride of all the beauty 28:15 __ We have cut a deal with death We have entered into a covenant with death 28:21 __ His disturbing task his alien task The NET notes say :His peculiar work ,or strange task because He must deal with them the way He treated their enemies in the past . 29:21 __ those who , with [ their ] speech , accuse a person of wrongdoing , who set a trap at the gate for the mediator those who with a word make someone out to be guilty , who ensnare the defender in court Heb.= the ones that make a man a sinner with a word Heb.= and deprive by emptiness the innocent I'll be back .
