I just received my new Holman Christian Standard Bible Red Letter Test Edition about a week ago. So far I have noticed a few of typos.

    1. In the back under Titles of Jesus, page 1070, 2nd column, it has one of Jesus' title as: Source of LifeWay Network user. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
Acts 3:15 And you killed the source of life(way network user  ), whom God raised from the dead; we are witnesses of this. <---This is how the verse would read according to HCSB

    2. In the back under The Miracles of Jesus, page 1073, at the bottom: Raising Lazarus from the dead is listed under Luke 11:38. This should be John 11:38 :D

    3. Page 857 and 858, the top of the page Chapter and Verse are wrong. Page 857 should read Mark 11:23 (note 10:23), page 858 should read Mark 11:24 (not 10:24). [IMG]

Does anyone else have any that I can add so that I can correct them in my copy?

Because of Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savoir!

Deborah: "it has one of Jesus' title as: Source of LifeWay Network user."

Indeed! I see this in my own copy of the HCSB. But to paraphrase a well-known Bible scholar: "Mistakes in the HCSB are advanced revelation" [IMG]

D'oh! That AutoText feature sure can be a pain. [IMG]

(And the moral of the story is, never use Microsoft Word for publication-quality documents.)

That's why I use Open Office. :D Plus, it's free as opposed to $300 and it works on win 98 (which new versions of MS Word/Office don't).

I will have to go home and look for the typos now. Hopefully they will fix those quickly.

Typos in the Bible? or typos in the back notes? Big difference.

My favorite Bible typo is a KJV (forget which revision) where it said "Thou SHALT commit adultery."

    Bet HCSB can't duplicate that!

Dr. Bob...that one was a classic! And you're right, the HCSB can't compete with that!

Are you sure it wasn't the Holman Christian Standard Bible Red Letter Text Edition? Or is the title also a typo on Holman's part?

"Text"! That was a typo on my part. I didn't even notice that! As a medical transcriptionist, that is a big no no for me! [IMG]

    To err is human! [IMG]

    ...but to forgive is divine.

Seems some in the versions forum have forgotten this.

I do med. trans. part-time. I don't proofread myself; my WIFE does that! She makes sure I spell dacryocystorhinostomy correctly.(Big word for "nose job"!)

I wonder of the early AV 1611 printers such as Barker had proofreaders? Sometimes it appears they blew it.
