In this closed thread, there was a dispute over a sermon given by Jack Schaap called "Healing for the Inner Hurts". In this sermon Dr. Schaap said the following:

At the time I had sent an email to Pastor Schaap about this issue and today I received a response:

I wish to publicly thank the Pastor for responding and I desire to share this with the brethren in the belief that this will clarify his intended position.

Thank you for confirming what many of us believed he meant...

Thanks for doing the leg work.

    Thanks for sharing this, Rufus.

I'm curious about whether it's worth it to send that reply from Schaap to the troll who started the threads in the first place.

    Thanks for this clarification, Rufus1611.

I just finished reading a missive from my mole in FBC of Hammond. Let me share what I learned:

    (1) Brother Schaap preached on prayer. (Hmm. Any doctrinal content?) [IMG]
    (2) There is a "Ben and Hur Ministry" of 30 men who pray in a little room under the pulpit for the pastor while he preaches (a very dangerous practice; tsk, tsk). :praying:
    (3) They gave an honorary doctorate to a missionary from New Zealand. (Gasp! What was he thinking? No one gives honorary doctorates to missionaries--it's just not done, not kosher.) [IMG]
    (4) Brother Schaap recently took a group of 30 men on a missionary trip to Africa. (Aha! He's not following his father-in-law after all. To be blunt, Bro. Jack didn't do much in the way of missions but support those from his own church, but his son-in-law actually started a new mission board which now has about 60 missionaries if I have it right--what nerve!). [IMG]

You know what? Let's just thank God for every single person who preaches the Gospel, even if they get some things wrong. Paul did: "15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: 16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: 17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. 18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice" (Phil. 1).

I too appreciate the leg work (while I personally thought his intent was clear), AND your sending it to Pastor Sanderson (who I hope reads it carefully and takes it to heart).
