I've been registered on this forum since September but forgot about it until some friends over at Online Baptist messaged me that there was another Baptist forum.

I'm old, grumpy, intolerant, and sometimes eat crocodile meat. I'm a hard-headed stubborn Jew that is saved by grace. I have a doctorate in theology, masters in Biblical counseling (nouthetic) and BA in law. My "credentials" don't make me smarter than anyone, and frankly I don't care if you call me Doc, Dr, James, Mr Ach. When I preached to some prisoners, I met an 80 year old guy that had the entire Bible memorized from Genesis to Revelation, and had the 1550 Stephens Greek New Testament memorized (Yes, IN Greek) and that helped put my "degree" in perspective ever since.

I am a native Israeli citizen and trained in the US for 4 years with a Naval Special Warfare Unit as an intelligence specialist (do not ask for "war stories" or details as I will not discuss matters beyond any commonly known military subjects. We can talk about guns, jumping out of perfectly good airplanes, rotten mess halls, but anything specific to my NEC is private). I have recently returned to Israel and as much as I enjoy the US, there is a great need here.

I founded a website called Do Right Christians at dorightchristians.wordpress.com
I and my brother-in-law, Elisha, started it in response to several so-called "victim advocate" groups that were (and are) vilifying the entire fundamentalist community over the small handful of abuses that have occurred in the IFB churches. I post on regular issues such as defense of the KJV, prophecy, defense of IFB doctrines, but do publish quite a bit against the non-sense of Stuff Fundies Like, the "Do Right" groups, Jocelyn Zichterman's atheist groups, the astrologist everything-IFB-is-wrong author Jeri Massi, and any other website that attempts to critique fundamentalist churches by using the examples of a few idiots to broad-brush every IFB church on the planet.

I also have made a document on memorizing the New Testament in 5 years and retain what you memorize. It is still being revised for better formatting, but I will give the link in messages and will answer any questions to help those want assistance in memorizing the Bible better.

I look forward to reading opinions of dedicated, like-minded believers, and I look forward to offending those who are not.

Welcome to the BB Doc. I share your love for memorizing scripture. Many years ago my wife and I were active in a non-denominational Bible Church where scripture memorization was encouraged. At the beginning of each meeting the entire congregation, adults along with the children, would stand and read aloud together (KJV, but the group was not KJVO by any means) the selected monthly text, which usually was an entire chapter of the Bible. Besides being a wonderful form of group worship, it was a very effective scripture memorization technique and a great assistance for the kids learning to read. My wife and I actually miss it very much. We've been to churches that practice 'line singing' but have never attended a Baptist church that practices group scripture reading. I've often wondered why. I think if I were a pastor I would encourage the practice. I do remember as a young child on Sunday nights only in the SB church I grew up in the entire congregation would stand and read selected scripture from the back of the hymnal.

!בָּרוּך הַבָּא. Please forgive any mistakes, my Hebrew is rusty. Many years since I sat under a Rabbi.

Where were you living in the USA. Most New Yorkers would peg you a rube if you used "Howdy"

    Guten Tag, Doc.

I spend many years in Germany with the US Army ( I did have a security clearance of Secret) so I understand your request - but here at BB we have ways to make you talk

You have a very interesting resume, and I am sure you will have much to share with us.

As far as Bible memorization - it appears that is not longer a priority with Christians. I suspect that having the Bible available on I-pods and ever other electronic device, some may not see a need to heed "Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee"

    Once again welcome to BB

PS- and watch out for Padre, don't believe everything he says about me:rolleyes:

Your Hebrew is fine, it's your Yiddish that needs work LOL. When I was in the US, I lived in quite a few different places, Great Lakes Illinois, San Diego by Coronado Bay, Little Creek Virginia and a year in Langley, Virginia and I have some relatives in Texas, New York.

    Welcome Doc....!

And I mean that sincerely. I'm thankful to have you among us here on the BB. I just hope you can have a long and fruitful stay among us as the KJV'ers among us are in the minority (and much needed here). I have to ask though.....in your personal profile what does the "IFSSWKJB" mean? I'll also be interested in your perspective as a Bible Believer in Israel. Welcome my dear brother!
