I tried a new taco seasoning mix from a well-trusted source and now my taco meat is too hot to handle. I've already rinsed the meat well and added other ingredients in hopes of making a decent pot of chili, since tacos are now out of the question.

Is there anything else I can do to turn down the heat? Would adding sugar make it less spicy? Please help!

I usually just mix refried beans in with the meat if I get it too spicy for the kids.

I add a little Splenda (or sugar) to chili, spaghetti sauce, tacos, etc. if they're too spicy. You can add more meat, tomatoes, black beans, and water and let it boil down.
