The other day I was trying to make a webpage at geocities, and was having a really hard time doing it. I'm NO good at useing computers, except turning them on and connecting to the internet. It was a pure miracle that I uploaded my picture to MSN, but that's as good as I do.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew of a place where I could make a webpage for free, with good DETAILED instructions.

Hey, Abby. I know two great places to help you out. [IMG]

    Check out http://www.angelfire.com

They have beginner editors and those for advanced HTML.

There is a really neat Christian site, too, that offers free web space:

    http://www.ourchurch.com

They have pre-programmed music files you can just upload from their menu onto your site, easy directions, and you can really make a nice page with little effort.

I'm sure the group here knows other places, too, but these are worth checking out. It takes patience, but you'll get the hang of it in no time. So don't give up! [IMG] Hang in there. [IMG]

Then come over here and brag & we'll all check out your wonderful pages! [IMG]

What exactly are you looking for? Detailed instructions on how to use GeoCities' web page maker? Or detailed instructions on how to make a web page?

Hello, Abby If you do not have a web-site publishing program like Front Page, I know one that is pretty basic and free if you want one. The Download Page is at http://www.serif.com/webplus1/index.asp

all you do is use what they call the wizard to automatically set one up or you can make one basic. then you can preview it in your browser like Internet Explorer,Save it as index.html and upload it to your web server online.

http://www.homewithgod.com offers 50MB of free web hosting with Christian Banners not like others with Casino/Lotto/Digital Cameras showing Woman Models in their ads or anything.

And if there is anyone here in BB that needs a Free html editor program I recommend http://www.evrsoft.com/download/

That is if you don't have Microsoft Front Page

Abby this program evrsoft may be Hard since it deals with html (computer language [IMG] ).

Hey Don, I did a mockup of your site and had it online for several days, guess you never saw it?
(I removed it from my server)

and as far as free websites, ourchurch is a safe one, but if you learn webdesign quickly, let me know I'll give you free webspace..im on a mission to rid ALL christian websites of pop up ads, whether 'family oriented' or not!

Sorry; did look at it, and ran a poll with some of the people I host, and some of my more frequent visitors.

Ended up using some of the suggestions from you and a few others, and leaving in a few elements.

Redesign can be found at www.ifbweb.com

That was a very nice website and my daughter loves to do this stuff. I guess she can teach me because right now I am so busy with the theology I have no time for this diversion... btw I'm also a two fingered wonder!... One of these days I'll learn to type properly! Miracles do happen you know!... Now if I could only get 20 year old hands and reflexes to go with this 56 year old body... That would be a miracle! Brother Glen [IMG]

LindaB is a gem, -offering free services!

Starting out with a site full of banners and popups is a mistake.
POPUP WINDOWS ONLY ANNOY READERS. Banners ads cause readers to leave your site quicker. Don't rush it, be patient and do it right the first time.

If you post a website 'for the time being' using one of those free services your message will never get delivered - only everyone elses message.

Not only that, but your URL won't be unique... yuo should pay for a domain name... the money you invest for Jesus cause will 'open' the door for blessings after blessings.

... or you should have someone walk you through it like LindaB... and I think everyone on this board that recives some sort of 'service' from LindaB or anyone else ought to see it as a blessing and should learn to return a blessing. like maybe take up a special offering from your church and donate it to whoever offers to do your work...
