I like Wal-Mart...and the Christmas Carols in September. If I had my way, we would have them all year long. :D

Unfortunately, I think it's spreading beyond WalMart. Pretty soon, we'll have Christmas carols and decorations on July 4th.

I was amazed at many stores that on July 5th had orange-and-black halloween decor. And Wally was behind on that - early July they were clearancing their "back to school" stuff so they could make room for parkas . . .

Y'all are gonna think this is ridiculous but I listen to my Christmas CDs year round. I can't get enough of Christmas. I would leave decorations up all year if I could. I got so excited a couple of weeks ago when I saw the "Seasonal" signs pop up in the garden center at Wally World. It is such an excitement to see and hear the reminders of my Saviour's birth. We sang Joy to the World in August. Several were verbally surprised.

It's called "pushing the season". Last year we had Christmas merchandise coming in in June. Sometime in November we stop being able to order space heaters and other winter related products. Try listening to Christmas music ALL day long for several months before Christmas. OK, I actually like that part. :D

    Dr. Bob,

A lot of people in this country can't afford to shop anywhere else, and many small towns don't have any place else worth shopping at.

Clarification: I personally LOVE Christmas. Man, I've got grandkids and #9 to be born around that time. What a joy.

And it FELT like Christmas last night. The Big Horns got 6" of snow and we had a hard frost in Casper.

I just truly HATE the commercialism of it. And think we all do.

BTW, NOBODY has to shop at WallyWorld. 3 weeks ago they broke ground for another Super store in Casper, just 2 miles away, 1 mile from the wife's clinic. So I think it WILL become a regular stop in my life. Grrrr.

It is truly amazing, and it seems that each year it gets earlier in the year.

I do not mind Christmas at all, but I would like to enjoy fall first.

That is because Walmart ran them out of business. [IMG]

Hobby Lobby has Christmas decorations out all year.

I love Christmas, but I also dislike the fact that many people spend money that they do not have just to keep up with the tradition.

I think we should wait until the day after Thanksgiving before we start with buying decorations, gifts, and so forth. If we all wait till then to buy, then stores wouldn't bother putting it on the shelves till then.

If I waited till then, there wouldn't be any Christmas at out house! I start gift shopping in August and already have about half the expensive stuff paid for and hid. The other half is on lay away. Son's birthday is Jan 5, so I have to shop for that at the same time as Christmas.

I'm not sure where Hobby Lobby is other than Oklahoma and Texas. Headquarters are in Oklahoma, but they are online. Great store for crafts, hobbies, etc.
