Terry_Herrington,

You said:
The Bushbots are alive and well on the Baptist Board.

==Sorry but I am not a "Bushbot" I am a "truthbot". The TRUTH is that both sides play the political good ol boy system. Democrats and republicans. Therefore NEITHER side can point fingers at the other. Do you recall what the Lord Himself said? Read and believe Matthew 7:3-5.

Martin.

All in all your post is completely meaningless. </font>
Why, thank you for that, ballfan.
Perhaps you could explain to us how Halliburton is always there when the contracts are awarded. Think about that: they have really been the recipient of some very lucrative contracts since 2000, haven't they?

Do you think that my fellow Republicans wouldn't be all over any company who was consistently awarded contracts if Clinton were in the White House?

To be more direct:
how many times can you turn your head and pretend that you don't see?

Regards,
BiR

If you believe the things that the Bush administration is saying, you have great difficulty recognizing the truth.

</font>
Maybe they would have appointed Madeleine Albright again. [IMG] </font>
Oh, so "Madeleine Albright" is getting, or has already received large lucrative contracts from the government?
Exactly which contracts has she received?
Which contracts has she received in the past?
Did she cash in on something about which we do not know?

And what line of work is she in, anyway?

..........as I would play that song by Mr. Zimmerman for you, OldRegular.

Of course, this discussion is not about Bush, but rather, Halliburton. I went back an re-read my own posts, and cannot find any references that I made to President Bush.

But at the risk of sounding as if I don't appreciate your input, thanks again.

Halliburton is a truly great American corporation, employing tens of thousand of people at good pay rates, also providing a good retun on the investment of their stockholders. [IMG]

Is it your super ego that makes you think that all posts on this Forum are in response to you or is it that you don't read very well. I might add, for those unfamiliar, that folks from Richmond, Virginia have never been shy when it comes to ego.

If you will read the post on fiddles you will see that it is addressed to the Forum in general, so put a lid on your ego or get some new specs! :D :D

Poles, you need some new specs also. I did not say anything about Bush fiddling. That was me playing a sad tune for the Bush Haters, or is it "Bush Bashers". It was your silly OP complaining about the government giving out contracts.

If the government went through the normal contract process it would take months to get reconstruction started. So Bush is not fiddling, its the Bush Haters who are piddling.

It is certainly true that during a two year period Halliburton’s revenue from Defense Department contracts doubled. However, that increase in revenue occurred from 1998 to 2000 - during the Clinton administration.

In 1998, Halliburton's total revenue was $14.5 billion, which included $284 million of Pentagon contracts. Two years later, Halliburton’s DoD contracts more than doubled.

SNIP

Neither the Center for Public Integrity nor Factcheck.org determined anything sinister about Halliburton’s no-bid" contracts for the Iraq war. Two nonpartisan, nonaligned, public interest organizations have investigated the Halliburton allegations and found them to be specious allegations made for purely political purposes.

An L.A. Times op-ed of April 22 said, "Halliburton Received No-Bid Contracts During Clinton Administration For Work In Bosnia And Kosovo." An October 2003 article in the (Raleigh, NC) News & Observer quoted Bill Clinton's Undersecretary Of Commerce William Reinsch as saying "'Halliburton has a distinguished track record,' he said. 'They do business in some 120 countries. This is a group of people who know what they're doing in a difficult business. It's a particularly difficult business when people are shooting at you.'"

Yep, there is certainly nothing wrong with Halliburton. Just because they have been doing business in Iran all along is just fine. After all, the newly elected president of Iran is allowed to come to the White House and is greeted with open arms. All this paranoia about Iran is just unfounded, too. Everyone loves a globalist. :D

This is a non-starter. We have had 5 years of this. No one has ever been able to name another company that could have done a better job or that even wanted some of those contracts. Working for Halliburton is very dangerous in Iraq. It is just more Bush Bashing by the Bashing Baptists of the Baptist Board.
